Operational Transconductance Amplifiers (OTAs)

2014
This chapter describes operational transconductance amplifiers (OTAs) and their linearization for use in g m -C filters. Super-source-follower and digitally programmable OTAs are detailed. The common-mode feedback used in these OTAs and a buffer amplifier are described. A OTA implemented in 120 nm CMOS is introduced inclusive measured results.

Bessel‐like compensation of three‐stage operational transconductance amplifiers

International Journal of Circuit Theory and Applications, 2017
AbstractIn this paper, we introduce a simple and well‐defined approach for the design of fast settling amplifiers suitable for switched‐capacitor circuits and characterized by low capacitive loads, in the order of few pico‐farad. In the specific, the design is based on a new Bessel‐like compensation that sets the phase of the closed‐loop amplifier to ...

New Operational Transconductance Amplifiers using current boosting

2012 IEEE 55th International Midwest Symposium on Circuits and Systems (MWSCAS), 2012
New techniques for Class-AB Operational Transconductance Amplifiers (OTAs) are presented. These new techniques are two topologies based on current boosting in class-AB stage which achieve considerable improvement of Slew Rate and Gain-Bandwidth while maintaining the same power consumption as the conventional design.

Instrumentation amplifiers using operational transconductance amplifiers

International Journal of Electronics, 1991
Instrumentation amplifier circuits using operational transconductance amplifiers (OTAs) as active circuit elements are proposed in this paper. Two new instrumentation amplifier circuits have been described and experimentally verified, where the first circuit comprises four OTAs and five resistors and the second circuit comprises two OTAs and three ...
