Guidance on the assessment of exposure of operators, workers, residents and bystanders in risk assessment of plant protection products

open access: yesEFSA Journal, 2022
This guidance is designed to assist risk assessors and applicants when quantifying potential non‐dietary, systemic exposures as part of regulatory risk assessment for plant protection products (PPPs). It is based on the Scientific Opinion on ‘Preparation

Operators Commuting with Positive Operators [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 1979
Necessary and sufficient conditions are obtained for an operator to commute with a positive operator.

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Molecular bases of circadian magnesium rhythms across eukaryotes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Circadian rhythms in intracellular [Mg2+] exist across eukaryotic kingdoms. Central roles for Mg2+ in metabolism suggest that Mg2+ rhythms could regulate daily cellular energy and metabolism. In this Perspective paper, we propose that ancestral prokaryotic transport proteins could be responsible for mediating Mg2+ rhythms and posit a feedback model ...

Crosstalk between the ribosome quality control‐associated E3 ubiquitin ligases LTN1 and RNF10

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of the E3 ligase LTN1, the ubiquitin‐like modifier UFM1, or the deubiquitinating enzyme UFSP2 disrupts endoplasmic reticulum–ribosome quality control (ER‐RQC), a pathway that removes stalled ribosomes and faulty proteins. This disruption may trigger a compensatory response to ER‐RQC defects, including increased expression of the E3 ligase RNF10 ...

Weighted almost convergence and related infinite matrices

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2018
The purpose of this paper is to introduce the notion of weighted almost convergence of a sequence and prove that this sequence endowed with the sup-norm ∥ ⋅ ∥ ∞ ${\Vert \cdot \Vert } _{\infty}$ is a BK-space. We also define the notions of weighted almost

Interplay between circadian and other transcription factors—Implications for cycling transcriptome reprogramming

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This perspective highlights emerging insights into how the circadian transcription factor CLOCK:BMAL1 regulates chromatin architecture, cooperates with other transcription factors, and coordinates enhancer dynamics. We propose an updated framework for how circadian transcription factors operate within dynamic and multifactorial chromatin landscapes ...

Function‐driven design of a surrogate interleukin‐2 receptor ligand

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Interleukin (IL)‐2 signaling can be achieved and precisely fine‐tuned through the affinity, distance, and orientation of the heterodimeric receptors with their ligands. We designed a biased IL‐2 surrogate ligand that selectively promotes effector T and natural killer cell activation and differentiation. Interleukin (IL) receptors play a pivotal role in

Do we actually understand the impact of renewables on electricity prices? A causal inference approach

open access: yesiEnergy
Understanding how renewable energy generation affects electricity prices is essential for designing efficient and sustainable electricity markets. However, most existing studies rely on regression-based approaches that capture correlations but fail to ...
