Audible and infrasonic noise levels in the cabins of modern agricultural tractors — Does the risk of adverse, exposure-dependent effects still exist?

open access: yesInternational Journal of Occupational Medicine and Environmental Health, 2013
Introduction: The agricultural tractor is one of the most commonly used vehicles on farms and one of the most prominent sources of noise. This article presents an exemplary assessment of the audible and infrasonic noise levels in the cabins of selected ...

Twisted Dirac Operators and the Noncommutative Residue for Manifolds with Boundary [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
In this paper, we give two Lichnerowicz type formulas for Dirac operators and signature operators twisted by a vector bundle with a non-unitary connection.

Quaternionic differential operators

open access: yes, 2001
Motivated by a quaternionic formulation of quantum mechanics, we discuss quaternionic and complex linear differential equations. We touch only a few aspects of the mathematical theory, namely the resolution of the second order differential equations with

Hematopoietic (stem) cells—The elixir of life?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The aging of HSCs (hematopoietic stem cells) and the blood system leads to the decline of other organs. Rejuvenating aged HSCs improves the function of the blood system, slowing the aging of the heart, kidney, brain, and liver, and the occurrence of age‐related diseases.

Triple Operators of Order n on a Hilbert Space

open access: yesTikrit Journal of Pure Science, 2018
In this paper, we introduce a new class of operators on a complex Hilbert space  which is called triple operators of order n. An operator  is called triple operator of order n if  where  is the adjoint of the operator .

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Matrices defined by frames [PDF]

open access: yesOpuscula Mathematica, 2009
Matrix representations of bounded Hilbert space operators are considered. The matrices in question are defined with respect to frames, rather than bases.

Should network operators be allowed to build joint facilities? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
In this paper, we address the issue of how the possibility for areements among network operators about building joint facilities affects their networks qualities, their profits and social welfare.

Generalized Lame operators

open access: yes, 2003
We introduce a class of multidimensional Schr\"odinger operators with elliptic potential which generalize the classical Lam\'e operator to higher dimensions.

Molecular bases of circadian magnesium rhythms across eukaryotes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Circadian rhythms in intracellular [Mg2+] exist across eukaryotic kingdoms. Central roles for Mg2+ in metabolism suggest that Mg2+ rhythms could regulate daily cellular energy and metabolism. In this Perspective paper, we propose that ancestral prokaryotic transport proteins could be responsible for mediating Mg2+ rhythms and posit a feedback model ...
