Virulentnost fitopatogene gljive Ophiostoma novo- ulmi

Analysis of Croatian Ophiostoma novo-ulmi populations – insight into changes occurring over time
2022Ophiostoma novo-ulmi is a phytopathogenic ascomycete fungus that causes Dutch elm disease (DED) – a highly destructive disease responsible for killing numerous North American and European elms (Ulmus ssp.). DED spreading began in the early 20th century and it was originally caused by Ophiostoma ulmi, while O.

In vitro analysis of the interaction between elm and Ophiostoma ulmi or O. novo-ulmi
1996The growth of Ophiostoma ulmi and O. novo-ulmi EAN and NAN races on callus cultures from Ulmus carpinifolia and U. pumila at 21, 25 and 33 °C were investigated and compared with the degree of compatibility of in vivo fungus-whole plant interactions and with fungal growth rates on a range of agar media at 21, 25 and 33 °C.

Viruses as Biological Control Agents of the Dutch Elm Disease Fungus Ophiostoma novo-ulmi
2000Dutch elm disease (DED) is not a three organism “elm-fungus-bark beetle” system, as originally believed. The DED fungus, Ophiostoma novo-ulmi, also often carries with it its own natural enemy, a type of virus known as a “d-factor.” These viruses are probably specific to the fungus. DED is therefore really an “elm-fungus-fungal virus-bark beetle” system.

Differential effect of 'Ca. Phytoplasma ulmi' and Ophiostoma novo-ulmi on Ulmus spp. in Croatia
2017Phytoplasma 'Ca. Phytoplasma ulmi’ is causal agent of elm yellows (EY) and ascomycete Ophiostoma novo-ulmi causes Dutch elm disease (DED). These are serious and widespread elm diseases, although for European elms DED is considered major treat compared to EY.
