Association of the Early Response to an Oral Shape‐Shifting Superabsorbent Hydrogel Capsule With Weight Loss

open access: yesClinical Obesity, Volume 16, Issue 1, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Early response (ER) to treatment is predictive of longer‐term weight loss. In this post hoc analysis, ER to an oral shape‐shifting superabsorbent hydrogel capsule (Epitomee) combined with a lifestyle intervention was compared to placebo combined with a lifestyle intervention.

Do Busy Bees Still Make Honey? Examining the Impact of Non‐CEO Executives’ Outside Roles on Firm Performance

open access: yesFinancial Review, Volume 61, Issue 1, Page 229-260, February 2026.
ABSTRACT We examine how non‐CEO executives (NCEs) serving on outside boards affect their focal firm performance. Firms with such NCEs exhibit lower return on asset (ROA) and profit margins than those without. These effects begin after board service starts, are not explained by busy boards or CEOs, and persist at least a year.

Cost‐Utility Analysis of Left Bundle Branch Area Versus Biventricular Pacing for Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy: A Multicenter, Prospective, Quasi‐Experimental Study

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, Volume 37, Issue 2, Page 257-267, February 2026.
Cost‐utility of LBBAP CRT versus BVP CRT. ABSTRACT Introduction Cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) is a well‐established treatment for patients with heart failure (HF). Recently, left bundle branch area pacing (LBBAP) has emerged as a more physiological alternative to biventricular pacing (BVP) for CRT.

Transcriptional outputs and condensates – formation and function

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 249, Issue 3, Page 1145-1154, February 2026.
Summary The dynamic spatiotemporal organization of macromolecules is key to the proper function of the cell, allowing the exquisite regulation of diverse processes from gene expression to enzymatic function. The formation of biomolecular condensates via phase separation (PS) acts as a general mechanism for selectively concentrating proteins, nucleic ...
