1971The karyotype of this species is similar to most didelphids with 22 chromosomes except Didelphis virginiana (Folio 51). The karyotypes presented here are gifts of Dr. Alfred L. Gardner, who collected the male specimen from Pacuare, Rio Pacuare, Prov. Cantago, Costa Rica and the female from Finca Ocuilapa, 10 km S.E. Tonala, Chiapas, Mexico. Bone marrow
