Is the Optic Disk Swollen?

Postgraduate Medicine, 1975
What appears to be a swollen optic disk could be evidence of either serious or benign disease, or it could be a normal disk in a farsighted patient.

SPONTANEOUS RESOLUTION OF OPTIC DISK PIT MACULOPATHY IN A CHILD AFTER A SIX-YEAR FOLLOW-UP

Retinal cases & brief reports, 2018
We report the spontaneous resolution of an optic disk pit maculopathy in a 12-year-old girl. Fundus photographs, optical coherence tomography, and microperimetry were used to monitor morphologically and functionally the patient during a 6-year follow-up.

MULTIMODAL IMAGING OF CHOROIDAL AND OPTIC DISK VESSELS NEAR OPTIC DISK PITS.

Retinal cases & brief reports, 2018
PURPOSE To describe modern multimodal imaging of the choroidal and optic disk vessels in optic disk pits. METHODS Case reports of four patients with optic disk pit who underwent multimodal imaging of the optic pit and surrounding structures.

Glioma of the Optic Disk

Archives of Ophthalmology, 1963
Gliomas of the optic nerve are uncommon, although they are seen occasionally in patients with neurofibromatosis. 1,2 Gliomas of the optic nerve at the disk have been reported, 3 but they are most often found in the orbital portions of the nerve. Gliomas specifically of the optic disk and associated with neurofibromatosis have been reported in only ...

Optical disks in optical computing

COMPCON Spring '91 Digest of Papers, 2002
Two optical-disk based architectures are described. The first is an optical implementation of the radial basis function approach for handwritten character recognition. The second system is an optoelectronic neural network implementation with electronic neurons, electronic synapses, and optical-disk-based weight storage.

Use of optical fiber heads for optical disks

Applied Optics, 1985
The ability to generate high quality lenses on the end of single mode optical fibers makes it possible to consider a large number of design changes in the development of a head for an optical disk system. It is these potential design changes which we wish to explore in discussing characteristics of a fiber optics head for an optical disk mass storage ...

Optic Disk Abnormalities

Neurologic Clinics, 1983
Ophthalmoscopic abnormalities of the optic disk may signal the presence of acquired intracranial disease; or the disk anomaly may be congenital and only mimic an acquired disk change; or the disk anomaly may be acquired but caused by a purely ocular disease. The abnormal disk may be elevated, excavated, or flat and may be abnormal in color, contour, or

CAVERNOUS HEMANGIOMA OF THE OPTIC DISK

RETINAL Cases & Brief Reports, 2012
To report a case of an unusually large cavernous hemangioma of the optic disk.Case report with funduscopic, fluorescein angiography, and magnetic resonance imaging correlations. A 20-year-old woman with no ocular or systemic history was diagnosed with cavernous hemangioma of the optic disk in a routine eye examination.Fundus examination revealed an ...

Optical disk storage

The Leading Edge, 1989
Optical disk storage is a rapidly evolving technology that is creating a significant impact on the geophysical industry. Optical disks can be used to store images (drawings, surveys, maps, etc.) or raw data (seismic traces, telemetry, etc.) for retrieval and analysis.
