Significant Clinical Improvements Following Arthroscopic Iliopsoas Fractional Lengthening After Total Hip Arthroplasty: A Prospective Multicenter Study

open access: yesArthroscopy, Sports Medicine, and Rehabilitation, EarlyView.
Purpose To prospectively investigate subjective anterior groin pain, patient‐reported outcome measures, complications, reoperation rates, and hip flexion strength after arthroscopic iliopsoas fractional lengthening. Methods From 2023 to 2025, patients with persistent groin pain after total hip arthroplasty refractory to conservative management ...

F203 Optic Nerve Sheath Meningioma

open access: yes, 1987
Optic nerve sheath meningioma. Note optociliary vessels on the disc. The disc is partially atrophic and blurred by previous edema. The cause of the choroidal scar was not determined. Anatomy: Optic disc.

Biomaterials for modulating cellular responses of endogenous tendon stem/progenitor cells: A promising avenue for tendon regeneration

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
This review comprehensively summarizes emerging biomaterial‐based strategies and underlying mechanisms for modulating endogenous tendon stem/progenitor cells (TSPCs). It offers the most recent insights into TSPC physiology and potential applications of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine in tendons.

Harmonized Multifaceted Zinc Deposition Enabled by Amine‐Functionalized Carbon Quantum Dots for Dendrite‐Free Zinc Anodes Under Ultrahigh Current Densities

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
A novel multifaceted Zn2+ deposition along the native crystal planes of Zn foil has been developed using NH2‐CDs electrolyte additives. This approach overcomes the inability of the conventional (002)‐facet deposition strategy to suppress Zn dendrites at high current densities, achieving dendrite‐free Zn anodes at an ultrahigh current density of 100 mA ...

Aqueous Supercapacitor with Wide‐Temperature Operability and over 100,000 Cycles Enabled by Water‐in‐Salt Electrolyte

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 18, Issue 6, March 15, 2025.
This study presents a symmetric supercapacitor with activated carbon electrodes and a “water‐in‐salt” electrolyte (WiSE) based on lithium perchlorate, offering over 100,000 cycles with over 90 % capacity retention. The supercapacitor operates efficiently from −20 to 80 °C, enhancing performance, stability, and all‐season operability.

Posttraumatic Emphysema of the Optic Nerve Sheath

open access: yes, 2019
The authors describe the case of a 19-year-old female who suffered posttraumatic emphysema of the optic nerve sheath. She suffered massive head trauma requiring emergent neurosurgery and was incidentally found to have air in her optic nerve sheath on CT ...

Spatiotemporal cellular dynamics of the notochord shape intervertebral disc morphogenesis in the mouse embryo through apoptosis and proliferation

open access: yesDevelopmental Dynamics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background The notochord is a midline structure essential for vertebrate embryogenesis, contributing to the development of the nervous system, digestive tract, and vertebral column. In particular, notochord signaling is indispensable for proper patterning and coordinated development of alternating vertebrae and intervertebral discs (IVDs ...

Taking a close look at optic-nerve meningioma

open access: yesPhilippine Journal of Ophthalmology, 2004
MENINGIOMAS, the most common benign intracranial neoplasms, most often involve the visual pathways in the parasellar and orbital regions, with compression or infiltration of the optic nerves or chiasm.
