Development of a Disease Activity Index for the Assessment of VEXAS Syndrome (VEXAS‐DAI)

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Vacuoles, E1 enzyme, X‐linked, autoinflammatory, somatic syndrome (VEXAS) syndrome is characterized by a complex spectrum of inflammatory and hematologic manifestations. Clinical research to identify effective therapies is urgently needed but is hindered by the lack of validated outcome measures.

Refractory Central Serous Retinal Detachment in the Presence of Optic Disc Pit – Case Report

open access: yesOkulistyka
Among congenital optic disc anomalies are megalopapilla, optic nerve aplasia and hypoplasia (de Morsier’s syndrome) and optic disc excavations. The latter are attributed to abnormal fetal fissure’s closure.

Optical coherence tomography characteristics in eyes with optic disc pit with or without maculopathy

open access: yesKerala Journal of Ophthalmology, 2018
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to study the optical coherence tomography (OCT) characteristics of optic disc pit with or without maculopathy and to validate the mechanism of fluid passage from the optic disc pit to the macula.

Thermomechanical Fatigue and Creep–Fatigue Interaction of Inconel 718 Additively Manufactured by Laser Beam Powder Bed Fusion

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Thermomechanical fatigue tests of laser beam powder bed fusion (PBF‐LB) Inconel 718 show that the additively manufactured material reaches almost the lifetimes of conventionally‐rolled material under no‐dwell conditions. Introducing dwell times at the maximum temperature markedly reduces the lifetimes due to pronounced grain boundary sliding associated

Air‐Pressure–Actuated Vibroacoustic Metamaterial With Tunable Bandgap: Design, Modeling, and Characterization

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents the design, modeling, and characterization of air‐pressure–actuated programmable vibroacoustic metamaterials (PVAMM). The study focuses on leveraging air pressure to dynamically tune resonance frequencies for effective noise attenuation.

Optic Disc Pit Maculopathy: A Review

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Ophthalmology, 2019
Optic disc pit (ODP) is a rare congenital anomaly of the optic disc that can be associated with maculopathy leading to progressive visual deterioration. The vast majority of cases are sporadic and no obvious factors have been correlated with the development of maculopathy.

Influence of Test Temperature and Test Frequency on Fatigue Life of Aluminum Alloy EN AW‐2618A

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The influence of test temperature and test frequency on the fatigue life of EN AW‐2618A is investigated. High‐cycle fatigue tests are performed at different test temperatures and frequencies on the 1000 h/230°C overaged state. Both test parameters reduce fatigue life due to time‐dependent damage mechanisms.

Inverse Identification of Energy‐Dependent Laser Absorptivity in NiTi Laser Powder‐Bed Fusion via Calibrated Melt Pool Simulation

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A combined experimental–computational framework identifies energy‐dependent laser absorptivity for NiTi in laser powder‐bed fusion, applicable to conduction and transition modes. Single‐track experiments and thermofluid smoothed particle hydrodynamics simulations are coupled through inverse analysis of melt pool geometry.
