The Impact of Camera Parameters on Optical Camera Communication

2019 International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Information and Communication (ICAIIC), 2019
Unlike visible light communication (VLC) using photo detector, optical camera communication (OCC) employs an image sensor as the receiver. In this paper, we discuss the parameter of rolling shutter camera (focal length, FOV, rolling rate, frame rate) which impact to the data rate of optical camera communication system.

Curved OLED-based NLOS optical camera communications links

Applied Optics, 2023
In this paper, for the first time, to the best of our knowledge, we experimentally demonstrate the use of a curved organic light emitting diode (OLED) as a transmitter (Tx) in the non-line-of-sight (NLOS) optical camera communication (OCC) link for an indoor environment using a camera as a receiver.

Synchronization issue for optical camera communications

2015 Seventh International Conference on Ubiquitous and Future Networks, 2015
When mentioning about camera, we just think about the picture characteristics such the quality, the resolution. Besides, it will be also the promising technique for communication issue which can be called as optical wireless communication (OWC). The research about OWC has been pushed from these years.

Experimental Characterization of Fiber Optic Lighting - Optical Camera Communications

2021 IEEE 32nd Annual International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications (PIMRC), 2021
In this paper, we study the novel idea of fiber optic lighting - optical camera communications. We carry out analyses of the proposed scheme employing a light emitting diode (LED) illuminated plastic optical fiber (POF) and a rolling-shutter-based camera as the transmitter and the receiver (Rx), respectively in an indoor static environment.

Deep Learning Based Optical Camera Communications

OSA Advanced Photonics Congress (AP) 2019 (IPR, Networks, NOMA, SPPCom, PVLED), 2019
A deep convolutional autoencoder (C-AE) for end-to-end adoption of orthogo-nal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) based optical camera communications (OCC) is proposed and the feasibility of the neural network (NN) is verified by simulations.

Practical design of Screen-to-Camera based Optical Camera Communication

2015 International Conference on Information Networking (ICOIN), 2015
This paper introduces the Optical Camera Communication (OCC) based on Computer Vision. The practical issues of implementation of the asynchronous communication based Screen-to-Camera are performed. The asynchronous scheme proposed by our previous work is modified to be simple, suitable and reliable in order to apply in case of heterogeneous frame rate ...

Camera and Inverse Camera System for Free-Space Optical Communications

Frontiers in Optics / Laser Science, 2018
We introduce an imaging-based transceiver for FSOC that enables precision beam steering over a wide field-of-regard using low-cost components with no moving parts. Passive beam steering provides dynamic beam-shaping and multiplexable communication.

Optical Camera Communication Application using Display Modulation

2020 International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Information and Communication (ICAIIC), 2020
QR code is commercialized as a matrix barcode and widely used in many applications. However, there are still many drawbacks of using QR code when the demand of data transferring amount is increasing, while remaining the communication reliability and small code size.
