The First Study of MIMO Scheme Within Rolling-shutter Based Optical Camera Communications [PDF]
In this paper, we propose the first study of MIMO (multiple-input multiple-output) scheme using a simplified design of MIMO transmitter (Tx) based on grouping of light-emitting diodes (LED) within an array for flicker-free transmission in optical camera ...

Investigating the angular distortion impact on vehicular optical camera communication (OCC) systems
Optical camera communication (OCC) shows promise for optical wireless communication (OWC) in vehicular networks. However, vehicle mobility-induced angular distortions hinder system throughput by degrading non-isotropic vehicular OCC channel gain. Few of the prior works have ever made a comprehensive analysis of their impact, especially based on the ...

Abstract We investigated the relationship between radio scintillations—short‐term fluctuations in radio signal intensity—and temperature fluctuations, both observed in vertical profiles from JAXA's Akatsuki radio occultation. Our results indicate that the radio scintillations and the temperature fluctuations are each strongly related to static ...

Evaluation of Pulse‐Shaped Waveform Modulation for Event Camera‐Based OCC Systems
This study presents an event camera‐based optical camera communication (OCC) system using a novel pulse‐shaped waveform modulation to exploit the camera's high temporal resolution and sensitivity. The system achieves error‐free links under controlled indoor conditions, with a bit error rate (BER) below 3.13 ×$\times$ 10−3$^{-3}$ at data rates of 100 Hz.

In this paper, we present an optical camera communication (OCC) system utilising a deep learning for indoor communication and monitoring with wearable LED strips and cameras. Specifically, we employ the YOLOv8 object detection model, based on convolutional neural networks (CNNs), to reliably detect a yellow safety jacket equipped with an LED strip in ...
