An optical orthogonal code acquisition scheme for optical CDMA systems
2012 18th Asia-Pacific Conference on Communications (APCC), 2012In this paper, we propose an optical orthogonal code (OOC) acquisition scheme for optical code division multiple access (CDMA) systems. By employing multiple thresholds, the proposed scheme provides a better mean acquisition time (MAT) performance than the conventional scheme. Numerical results demonstrate that the MAT of the proposed scheme is shorter

Source-Matched Spreading Codes for Optical CDMA
IEEE Transactions on Communications, 2007Puncturing is studied as a physical layer mechanism for efficiently transmitting datastreams containing bits of unequal priority via wavelength-time optical code-division multiple access. Puncturing increases system capacity, while ensuring that important bits are received with low bit-error ...

Scalable asynchronous incoherent optical CDMA [Invited]
Journal of Optical Networking, 2007We present and review several aspects of incoherent optical code-division multiple access (OCDMA), focusing on the flexible bandwidth allocation and its potential for future optical networks. We briefly present the various OCDMA approaches, coherent and incoherent, before focusing on the later and more specifically temporal 1D and 2D wavelength-hopping

MC-CDMA Indoor Optical Wireless System
IEEE GLOBECOM 2007-2007 IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference, 2007Multicarrier code division multiple access (MC-CDMA) is a transmission scheme that combines the robustness of orthogonal modulation with the flexibility of CDMA schemes. It can lower the symbol rate and is therefore suited to the bandwidth limited optical wireless indoor channel.

All-Optical CDMA and Switching
Adaptive Optics: Analysis and Methods/Computational Optical Sensing and Imaging/Information Photonics/Signal Recovery and Synthesis Topical Meetings on CD-ROM, 2005This paper proposes and demonstrates all-optical CDMA and switching technologies. In particular, we investigate and achieve optical CDMA encoding and decoding on integrated InP microsystems. Experimental results indicate successful optical CDMA encoding and detections.

Extended multilevel prime codes for optical CDMA
IEEE Transactions on Communications, 2010In this paper, a new family of "multilevel" wavelength-time codes with expanded code cardinality, flexible code length, zero autocorrelation sidelobes, and the maximum cross-correlation function of any arbitrary positive integer n is constructed and analyzed.

Optical CDMA components requirements
SPIE Proceedings, 1998Optical CDMA is a complementary multiple access technology to WDMA. Optical CDMA potentially provides a large number of virtual optical channels for IXC, LEC and CLEC or supports a large number of highspeed users in LAN. In a network, it provides asynchronous, multi-rate, multi-user communication with network scalability, re-configurability (bandwidth ...

An optical CDMA method for in-vehicle information service
2012 12th International Conference on ITS Telecommunications, 2012This study proposes a new inter-vehicle communication (IVC) system based on optical spectral-amplitude-coding optical code division multiple access (SACOCDMA) systems architecture, then, analysis and calculate the system's performance by using analytic and simulation methods.

A simulation model of an optical communication CDMA system
Proceedings of the 2007 international conference on Computer systems and technologies - CompSysTech '07, 2007This paper suggests a simulation model of optical code division multiple access communication system using optical orthogonal codes. The simulation model provides the opportunity for asynchronous access to the common optical media of random number of users.

Coherent optical CDMA networks
Journal of Lightwave Technology, 1993Recent work in optical code-division multiple access (CDMA) is reviewed, progressing from incoherent to coherent techniques. It is shown that under appropriate conditions, coherent CDMA can in principle rival wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) in terms of aggregate network throughput.
