Thermo-Optical Studies of Laser Ceramics [PDF]

open access: yesMaterials, 2021
A cycle of works on manufacturing and studying laser and magnetooptical ceramics with a focus on their thermo-optical characteristics performed by the research team is analyzed. Original results that have not been published before such as measurements of the Verdet constant in the Zr:TAG, Re:MgAl2O4, and ZnAl2O4 ceramics are also presented.

Optical properties of Zn0.75Mg0.25O:Mn ceramics

open access: yesOptical Materials, 2023
Mn-doped ZnO, MgO and Zn0.75Mg0.25O samples ([Mn] = 0.1 at.%) were produced by conventional solid-state technique and investigated by means of XRD, EPR, absorption, photocurrent, photo- and cathodoluminescence methods. It was shown that Zn0.75Mg0.25O solid solution with hexagonal structure has the bandgap of Eg ~3.65 eV.

Point-defect-driven flattened polar phonon bands in fluorite ferroelectrics

open access: yesnpj Computational Materials, 2023
The scale-free ferroelectric polarization of fluorite MO2 (M = Hf, Zr) due to flat polar phonon bands are promising for nonvolatile memories. Defects are also widely introduced to improve the emergent ferroelectricity.
