Abstract Purpose Physiological pulsations driven by cardiac, respiratory, and vasomotor activity are essential for solute transport within perivascular and perineural cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) pathways that support brain and eye clearance systems. Previous studies have shown that parasympathetic blockade significantly reduces ocular pulsation power and

Lactate Accelerates Early Angiogenesis and Bone Regeneration Through Macrophage M1 Polarisation
During the early stage of bone defect healing, lactate accumulates and contributes to increasing NOD1 expression by stabilising HIF1α that in turn triggers a calcium influx, which ultimately polarises macrophages towards the M1 phenotype and accelerates vascularisation of endothelial cells.

ABSTRACT Aims To evaluate the association between continuous glucose monitoring (CGM)‐derived glycaemic variability indicators and early microvascular changes of the retina and choroid in nondiabetic individuals. Materials and Methods Community‐based individuals at high risk for type 2 diabetes (T2DM) underwent detailed assessments including oral ...

Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography in Mice: Comparison with Confocal Scanning Laser Microscopy and Fluorescein Angiography [PDF]
PURPOSE: Optical coherence tomography angiography (OCT-A) allows noninvasive visualization of retinal vessels in vivo. OCT-A was used to characterize the vascular network of the mouse retina and was compared with fluorescein angiography (FA) and ...
