Lactate Accelerates Early Angiogenesis and Bone Regeneration Through Macrophage M1 Polarisation
During the early stage of bone defect healing, lactate accumulates and contributes to increasing NOD1 expression by stabilising HIF1α that in turn triggers a calcium influx, which ultimately polarises macrophages towards the M1 phenotype and accelerates vascularisation of endothelial cells.

Branch retinal artery occlusion due to patent foramen ovale in a teenager
Abstract This report demonstrates the diagnostic evaluation and clinical management of a 16‐year‐old girl who developed branch retinal artery occlusion secondary to patent foramen ovale. The goal is to increase awareness of this rare presentation in adolescents among clinicians, with a summary of the important clinical features, multimodal imaging ...

Optical coherence tomography angiography: A general view
Optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) is a new, non-invasive imaging technique that generates angiography images in a matter of seconds. Since it detects vascular compromise even before clinical picture sets in , it is a very useful tool in the

Analysis of FDML lasers with meter range coherence
FDML lasers provide sweep rates in the MHz range at wide optical bandwidths, making them ideal sources for high speed OCT. Recently, at lower speed, ultralong-range swept-source OCT has been demonstrated1, 2 using a tunable vertical cavity surface ...

Abstract Purpose This report evaluates the association of three distinct leakage patterns of choroidal vascular hyperpermeability (CVH) on indocyanine green angiography (ICGA), previously correlated with disease chronicity, with retinal sensitivity measured by microperimetry in central serous chorioretinopathy (CSC): unifocal indistinct signs of ...

Neovascular age‐related macular degeneration without drusen
Abstract Purpose To describe the clinical characteristics and 1‐year follow‐up of patients with neovascular AMD (nAMD) without drusen in either eye. Methods This is a multicentre retrospective cohort study in three tertiary referral centres in The Netherlands. We included patients of 55 years or older with nAMD in one or both eyes, without the presence
