Interactions between Molten High‐Silicon Electrical Steels and Carbon‐Bonded MgO Refractories Based on Recyclates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study examines how several molten high‐silicon electrical steels interact with both conventional and recycled MgO–C refractories. For this, various immersion experiments are conducted. In addition to infiltration, a number of mechanisms are identified and explained that control the corrosion of the refractory material.

Optical emission spectroscopy of atmospheric-pressure non-equilibrium plasma with mist injection

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2017
This paper describes optical emission spectroscopic diagnostics of atmospheric-pressure non-equilibrium plasma with mist injection. Electron number densities and gas temperatures are estimated from Hβ (486 nm) and OH (309 nm) spectra to be on the order ...

Exciton dynamics in WSe2 bilayers

open access: yes, 2014
We investigate exciton dynamics in 2H-WSe2 bilayers in time-resolved photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy. Fast PL emission times are recorded for both the direct exciton with $\tau_{D}$ ~ 3 ps and the indirect optical transition with $\tau_{i}$ ~ 25 ps ...

Structural and spectroscopic characterization of cadmium sodium phosphate glasses doped with ytterbium for optical applications

open access: yesResults in Chemistry, 2022
Cadmium sodium phosphate glasses doped with ytterbium ions were fabricated by standard melt-quenching technique. The structural changes of the glass matrix doped with different ratios of Yb3+ ions were investigated via FTIR and Raman spectroscopies.

Electron and optical phonon temperatures in electrically biased graphene

open access: yes, 2010
We examine the intrinsic energy dissipation steps in electrically biased graphene channels. By combining in-situ measurements of the spontaneous optical emission with a Raman spectroscopy study of the graphene sample under conditions of current flow, we ...
