Identification of a Shiga toxin A‐derived peptide internalized into Gb3 receptor‐bearing cells via interaction with the Shiga toxin B subunit

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The process of internalization of the Shiga toxin A subunit via formation of a complex with the Shiga toxin B subunit, which specifically binds to the Gb3 receptor. The peptide is designed to act as a carrier of drugs into cancer cells. Here, we explored the potential of peptides derived from the catalytic A subunit of Shiga toxin (STxA) to be drug ...

Realization Method of Digital Filter in Pathological Assistant Diagnosis System

open access: yesJournal of Harbin University of Science and Technology, 2022
The pathology-assisted diagnosis system adopts the method of placing a filter on the slice to filter the light source and obtain the monochromatic parallel light, which is used to calculate the optical density parameter of the image to reflect the ...

Transmission function of the collinear acousto-optical filter controlled by acoustic waves of the finite amplitude [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
An opportunity to exploit specific mechanisms of the acousto-optic nonlinearity to regulate performances of the collinear acousto-optical filter, realizing the sequential spectrum analysis of optical signals, is considered.

Conserved binding mode but diverse interfaces of MreC‐PBP2 interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The crystal structure of abMreC reveals a conserved two β‐barrel architecture and provides structural insights into its role within the bacterial elongasome. The abMreC–abPBP2 complex model identifies the molecular basis of MreC‐mediated PBP2 recognition, contributing to the regulation of peptidoglycan synthesis.

Functional comparison of EncB and EncC cargo proteins in iron storage within the Myxococcus xanthus encapsulin

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Encapsulins are protein nanocompartments that play an important role in iron storage. In the Myxococcus xanthus encapsulin system, two cargo proteins called EncB and EncC contribute to iron mineralization. Here, we show that EncB and EncC generate iron‐containing minerals with distinct chemical compositions, suggesting that the composition of stored ...

Structures of mycobacterial 3‐methylcrotonyl‐CoA carboxylase reveal carrier‐domain translocation between catalytic sites

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mycobacterial 3‐methylcrotonyl‐CoA carboxylase uses a mobile biotin‐carrying domain to shuttle a carboxyl group between two catalytic sites, enabling carboxylation of 3‐methylcrotonyl‐CoA during leucine breakdown. Cryo‐electron microscopy captures the carrier at both sites and reveals an inward loop movement that may prevent futile rebinding to the ...

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.
