ABSTRACT Sociolinguistics primarily focuses on deliberately staged public signs, while relatively less attention has been given to ephemeral and non‐deliberate signs in urban environments. This study investigates “ accidental signs,” which are hidden historical texts suddenly exposed by unpredictable events.
