Optical investigation of ErFeO3

Zeitschrift fr Physik, 1967
The absorption spectrum of single crystals of ErFeO3 has been investigated in the red and near infrared spectral region in the temperature range between 1.2 °K and 4.2 °K and at 20 °K and 77 °K. Between 77 °K and 4.2 °K a constant splitting of the absorption lines is observed.

Optical investigation of DyFeO3

Zeitschrift für Physik A Hadrons and nuclei, 1969
Optical absorption spectra of DyFeO3 have been investigated at 1.2≦T≦4.2 °K, andT=77 °K From the temperature dependent lineshift a Neel temperature ofTN=(3.8±0.5) °K is deduced for the dysprosium sublattices. The groundstate splitting due to the iron-dysprosium interactions is about 1.5 cm−1 and due to the dysprosiumdysprosium interactions (5.0±1.4) cm−

Optical investigation of HoFeO3

Zeitschrift für Physik A Hadrons and nuclei, 1969
The absorption spectra of HoFeO3 were investigated in the near infrared spectral region at temperatures of 1.2, 4.2, 20 and 77 °K respectively. At every temperatureT≦20 °K all the absorption lines show the same splitting which is attributed to the groundstate; this splitting is (7.2±0.5) cm−1 at 20 °K and decreases to (4.9±0.8) cm−1 extrapolated to 0 ...

Ellipsometric investigations of piezo-optical effects

Thin Solid Films, 1998
Abstract An introduction to the stress-induced birefringence of solids, with emphasis on cubic and amorphous materials, is given. Most available experimental data have been obtained in the frequency region below the electronic absorption edge: the corresponding coefficients of the stress-optical tensor are then real.

Investigation on optical performance of transparent displays

2014 IEEE Fourth International Conference on Consumer Electronics Berlin (ICCE-Berlin), 2014
Transparent displays have been expected to widen the scope of display application utilizing see-through function. There are, however, few studies on transmitted image quality of transparent display until now. This paper, therefore, describes the optical performance of transparent displays. In order to evaluate transmitted see-through performance, novel

A TEM investigation of optical variations in sphalerite

Mineralogical Magazine, 1987
Sphalerites from the Force Crag Pb-Zn vein, N England, show darker coloured zones found not only to be richer in Cu, Fe, Sb, Ag and Pb but also to contain precipitates of tetrahedrite-like composition. Sphalerites from Silvermines, Ireland, also showed trace-element enriched colour banding but were devoid of precipitates.

An investigation on all-optical multicast technology in all-optical networks

2021 the 3rd International Conference on Robotics Systems and Automation Engineering (RSAE), 2021
Optical fiber communication has the characteristics of large transmission capacity, long transmission distance and good transmission efficiency, which could satisfy the ever-increasing bandwidth data communication requirements. All-optical network can directly process signal in the optical domain with the conventional optical - electrical - optical ...

An Optical Investigation of Oxide Films on Metals

Journal of the Optical Society of America, 1939
Observations were made on the ellipticity resulting when plane-polarized light was reflected from iron and nickel surfaces covered with oxide films continuously increasing in thickness through the temper-color range. It was found that the results could be interpreted by the assumption of multiple reflections occurring within the film.

Optical and Raman investigation of Yb pnictide compounds

Physical Review B, 1993
We report on our thorough optical investigations of the Yb pnictide compounds, performed over a large photon-energy spectral range. From Kramers-Kronig analysis we obtain the complete excitation spectrum in terms of the optical dielectric functions. Applying a phenomenological harmonic-oscillator model we extract the unscreened plasma frequency and the
