Harnessing Laguerre-Gaussian Beams to Construct Quasi-Nondiffracting Optical Ring Lattices
We construct a family of optical ring lattices that manifest the quasi-nondiffracting property via superposition of high-radial-order Laguerre-Gaussian beams.

Structural Tolerances of Optical Characteristics in Various types of Photonic Lattices
A systematic study of various photonic crystal lattices and their optical characteristics is carried out in this paper. Sensitivity of both dispersion and effective mode area characteristics to deviations of particular structural parameters of the ...

X,Y,Z-Waves: Extended Structures in Nonlinear Lattices [PDF]
Motivated by recent experimental and theoretical results on optical X-waves, we propose a new type of waveforms in 2D and 3D discrete media -- multi-legged extended nonlinear structures (ENS), built as arrays of lattice solitons (tiles or stones, in the ...

Nonlinear Excitations in Ultracold Atoms Trapped in Triple Optical Lattices
Various solitary wave excitations are found for a Bose-Einstein condensate in presence of two hybrid potentials in the form of triple mixtures of optical lattices. One of these potentials comprises of a combination of two important lattice profiles, such

Fractionalized topological defects in optical lattices
Topological objects are interesting topics in various fields of physics ranging from condensed matter physics to the grand unified and superstring theories. Among those, ultracold atoms provide a playground to study the complex topological objects.

State-recycling and time-resolved imaging in topological photonic lattices [PDF]
Photonic lattices - arrays of optical waveguides - are powerful platforms for simulating a range of phenomena, including topological phases. While probing dynamics is possible in these systems, by reinterpreting the propagation direction as "time ...

Dynamically reconfigurable optical lattices
We present a theoretical framework for two approaches of generating light-efficient optical lattices via a generic Fourier-filtering operation. We demonstrate how lattice geometry can be dynamically changed from fully discrete to interconnected optical arrays conveniently achieved with virtually zero computational resources.
