Atomic Layer Deposition in Transistors and Monolithic 3D Integration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Transistors are fundamental building blocks of modern electronics. This review summarizes recent progress in atomic layer deposition (ALD) for the synthesis of two‐dimensional (2D) metal oxides and transition‐metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs), with particular emphasis on their enabling role in monolithic three‐dimensional (M3D) integration for next ...

Sensitized Triplet Exciton Generation in Nanostructured Polymer Scintillators: Toward Improved γ/Neutron Discrimination

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Rapid γ/neutron discrimination through PSD is achieved in liquid droplet containing nanostructured polymeric scintillator where a TTA‐active dye is dissolved. The inclusion of a properly selected and dosed sensitizer metalated porphyrin enhances discrimination sensitivity and speed by doubling the density of annihilating triplets and increasing the ...

Multi‐Functional ZnO–Te Heterojunction Devices Enabling Compact Frequency Quadrupler

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Wafer‐scale ZnO–Te heterojunction devices featuring tunable double negative differential transconductance (D‐NDT) are demonstrated at ≤ 200°C. Leveraging this unique characteristic, a single‐stage frequency quadrupler is realized, achieving a 64%–75% reduction in device count.

Optical Manipulation of Soft Matter

Small Methods, 2023
AbstractOptical manipulation has emerged as a pivotal tool in soft matter research, offering superior applicability, spatiotemporal precision, and manipulation capabilities compared to conventional methods. Here, an overview of the optical mechanisms governing the interaction between light and soft matter materials during manipulation is provided.

Optical vortex manipulation

Frontiers in Optics, 2003
Optical vortices can provide mechanisms for micromanipulation of micron or sub-micron sized particles as well as a means to generate complicated array patterns. Particularly interesting is the way in which higher order vortices can be triggered by a secondary optical field to explode or implode.

Optical Cell Manipulation

2010
In current biotechnology and biomedicine, cell-based investigations are rapidly gaining importance due to the recognition that molecular research alone does not provide a sufficiently complex insight. The high cost of animal studies and the fact that their results often cannot be directly transferred to humans additionally shifts the focus towards cell-
