Measurement-efficient optical wavemeters
We describe a method for efficiently determining the wavelength of a monochromatic source and provide an experimental proof-of-concept. The photomeasurement efficiency for a wavemeter can be written as eta(N,q) = (1 + logqN)/m, where N is the number of spectral channels, q is the number of distinguishable output levels per photodetector, and m is the ...

The process of internalization of the Shiga toxin A subunit via formation of a complex with the Shiga toxin B subunit, which specifically binds to the Gb3 receptor. The peptide is designed to act as a carrier of drugs into cancer cells. Here, we explored the potential of peptides derived from the catalytic A subunit of Shiga toxin (STxA) to be drug ...

Measurement of optical rotation in crystals
Abstract In the last few years, new techniques have been devised to measure optical rotation in cases where the linear birefringence dominates and this has opened up new fields of research into the phenomenon of optical rotation. In this paper, the phenomenon of optical rotation will be discussed with respect to our knowledge of crystal structure and a

Investigating transcription factor dynamics in health and disease using FRAP
FRAP analysis of GFP‐tagged transcription factors reveals how molecular mobility and target engagement change in response to drug treatment. By combining live‐cell imaging, quantitative model fitting, and statistical analysis, this approach uncovers transcription factor dynamics linked to disease mechanisms, providing a powerful framework for ...

Integrated Tactile-Optical Coordinate System for the Reverse Engineering of Complex Geometry [PDF]
To meet the requirement of both high speed and high accuracy 3D measurement for reverse engineering of artefacts, an integrated contact–optical coordinate measuring system is proposed in this paper. It combines the accuracy of contact measurement using a

Conserved binding mode but diverse interfaces of MreC‐PBP2 interactions
The crystal structure of abMreC reveals a conserved two β‐barrel architecture and provides structural insights into its role within the bacterial elongasome. The abMreC–abPBP2 complex model identifies the molecular basis of MreC‐mediated PBP2 recognition, contributing to the regulation of peptidoglycan synthesis.
