Microcrystalline cellulose was surface modified using itaconic anhydride and used as a reinforcing particle in biobased itaconated castor oil and isobornyl (meth)acrylate formulations for vat photopolymerisation additive manufacturing. The polymers displayed tailorable and competitive mechanical properties, low polymerisation shrinkage, detailed ...

Self-crimping bicomponent nanofibres electrospun from polyacrylonitrile and elastomeric polyurethane
Two polymer solutions were brought together via a microfluidic device and subjected to an electrospinning process. The two polymer solutions flowed into the microfluidic channel side-by-side with very little intermixing due to their laminar nature.

Electrospun Mo─SiO2 nanofibers as heterogeneous catalysts for propylene metathesis
Electrospinning provided Mo─SiO2 nanofibres with high specific surface area, homogeneous Mo dispersion in silica, and outstanding activity in olefin metathesis. Abstract Olefin metathesis catalysts based on molybdenum exhibit superior performance at low temperatures when they contain highly dispersed MoOx species within the catalyst support.

Structural and electrical properties of gold nanowires/P(VDF-TrFE) nanocomposites [PDF]
High aspect ratio gold nanowires were uniformly dispersed into a poly(vinylidene difluoride–trifluoroethylene) [P(VDF-TrFE)] matrix. The nanowires were synthesized by electrodeposition using nanoporous anodic alumina oxide templates.
