Elastic and inelastic scattering of 18O ions on 12C nuclei [PDF]
Angular distributions of the 12C + 18O elastic and inelastic scattering were measured at the energy Elab(18O) = 105 MeV (Ec.m. = 42 MeV). These data and data known from the literature at the energies Ec.m. = 12.9 - 56 МеV were analysed within the optical

Generation of optical potentials for ultracold atoms using a superluminescent diode
We report on the realization and characterization of optical potentials for ultracold atoms using a superluminescent diode. The light emitted by this class of diodes is characterized by high spatial coherence but low temporal coherence.

Cluster scattering in the non-local model
Scattering of weakly bound nuclei with a pronounced cluster structure is strongly affected by their breakup. Usually, this mechanism is accounted for in a three-body model with pairwise potentials.

Interaction of atoms with a magneto-optical potential
A theoretical study of the coherent interaction of multilevel atoms with a magneto-optical potential is presented. The potential is formed by counterpropagating linearly polarized laser beams whose polarization vectors intersect at an angle cphi and a static magnetic field applied parallel to the laser propagation direction.

Digital reconstruction of optically-induced potentials
The holographic reconstruction of optically-induced objects typically assumes that the object is axially thin. Here, we demonstrate a simple approach that works for axially thick objects which evolve dynamically. Results are verified by reconstructing linear scattering experiments in a self-defocusing photorefractive crystal.

The 6Li(18O, 17O)7Li reaction mechanisms and 7Li + 17O potential [PDF]
Angular distributions of the 6Li(18O, 17O)7Li reaction were measured at Elab(18O) = 114 MeV for ground and excited states of exit nuclei. The data were analyzed within the coupled-reaction-channels method (CRC).

Unitarity and the optical potential
Abstract The optical potential for the elastic scattering of two nuclear fragments with the full inclusion of the Pauli principle is considered. It is shown using unitarity that the optical potential, defined in terms of the Alt, Grassberger and Sandhas off-shell extension of the transition operator, has no singularities across the elastic unitarity ...

14C(11B, 9Be)16N reaction mechanisms and potential of the 9Be + 16N interaction [PDF]
New experimental data for differential cross sections of the 14С(11B, 9Be)16N reaction were measured for the ground states of 9Be and 16N nuclei as well as for the excited states of 16N at the energy Elab.(11В) = 45 MeV.

The Abnormal Threshold Anomaly in the 6Li + 208Pb System [PDF]
Numerous studies have demonstrated that the phenomenological optical potential of tightly bound nuclear systems presents a threshold anomaly phenomenon in the near-Coulomb barrier energy region, where the relationship between the real and imaginary ...

Nonadditivity of Optical and Casimir-Polder Potentials [PDF]
An atom irradiated by an off-resonant laser field near a surface is expected to experience the sum of two fundamental potentials, the optical potential of the laser field and the Casimir--Polder potential of the surface. Here, we report a new non-additive potential, namely the laser-induced Casimir--Polder potential, which arises from a correlated ...
