Optical and magneto-optical properties of PrSb

Physical Review B, 1994
We present the results of a theoretical study for the interpretation of the optical and magneto-optical spectra of PrSb. In particular, we address the question of the assignment of the unexpectedly low optical and magneto-optical signals to the ${\mathit{f}}^{2}$\ensuremath{\rightarrow}${\mathit{f}}^{1}$d transition.

Optical properties of supercrystals

Microelectronics Journal, 2008
We present a systematic study of the dependence of the optical properties on the geometry of the quantum dots, which form a quantum dots chain. We obtain electronic structure of 1D supercrystals by using a tight-binding method based on the s and p orbitals and wave functions of the quantum dots for the on-site parameters.

Optical properties of diamond

Physical Review B, 1991
The optical properties of diamond are examined in the energy region up to 25 eV. A modified parabolic-band model is used to explain existing experimental data on the dispersion of the real and imaginary part of the dielectric function. Optical properties such as reflectance, index of refraction, and extinction coefficient are also determined in the ...

Optical properties of ZnSe

Physical Review B, 1991
We have studied the optical response of ZnSe in the 1.5--5.3-eV photon-energy range at room temperature by spectroscopic ellipsometry. The measured dielectric-function spectra reveal distinct structures at energies of the ${\mathit{E}}_{0}$, ${\mathit{E}}_{0}$+${\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Delta}}}_{0}$, ${\mathit{E}}_{1}$, and ${\mathit{E}}_{1}$+${\mathrm ...

Optical properties of stanene

Nanotechnology, 2016
Successful synthesis of graphene has created a runaway effect in the exploration of other similar two-dimensional materials. These materials are important as they provide large surface areas and have led to the exploration of new physical phenomena. Even though graphene has exotic electronic properties, its spin-orbit coupling is very weak.

Optical properties of HgSe

Physical Review B, 1995
The optical properties of HgSe grown by molecular-beam epitaxy have been studied over a wide range of frequencies covering the ${\mathit{E}}_{0}$, ${\mathit{E}}_{1}$, and ${\mathit{E}}_{1}$+${\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Delta}}}_{1}$ gaps. Theoretical calculations of the dielectric function are used in deriving fundamental material parameters for HgSe.
