Self-tuning optical resonator [PDF]
We demonstrate a nonlinear optical resonator that tunes itself onto resonance with an input beam. In a monolithic Fabry-Perot cavity implemented in rubidium-doped periodically-poled potassium titanyl phosphate, an intensity-dependent refractive index produces line-pulling by multiple free-spectral ranges (FSRs).

Design and Simulation of all-optical Comparator Using Photonic Crystal-based Nonlinear Ring Resonators [PDF]
All-optical comparators can play crucial roles in the next generation of optical integrated circuits. In this paper, a novel structure was proposed for designing and implementing an all-optical comparator.

Inverse design of cooperative electromagnetic interactions [PDF]
The cooperative electromagnetic interactions between discrete resonators have been widely used to modify the optical properties of metamaterials. Here we propose a general evolutionary approach for engineering these interactions in arbitrary networks of ...

Densely Integrated Photonic Devices based on Microring Resonators in Access Networks [PDF]
The application of optical fibers has led to virtually lossless point to point data links in the core network with practically unlimited bandwidth. In response to increasing bandwidth demands of consumers the optical techniques employed in these networks

Acoustic Sensing Performance Investigation Based on Grooves Etched in the Ring Resonators
Acoustic detection based on optical technology has moved in the direction of high sensitivity and resolution. In this study, an optical waveguide acoustic sensor based on a ring resonator with the evanescent field is proposed. Grooves are introduced into

Terahertz 3D bulk metamaterials with randomly dispersed split-ring resonators
While optical systems using terahertz wave are expected to achieve beneficial applications, at present, the materials of the optical elements that compose them must be selected from limited choices.

Optical Interconnection Architectures based on Microring Resonators [PDF]
: Microring resonators are an interesting device to build integrated optical interconnects, but their asymmetric loss behavior could limit the scalability of classical optical interconnects.

Brillouin optomechanics in the quantum ground state
Bulk acoustic wave (BAW) resonators are attractive as intermediaries in a microwave-to-optical transducer, due to their long coherence times and controllable coupling to optical photons and superconducting qubits.
