Influence of Hydrogen‐Incorporation on the Bulk Electronic Structure and Chemical Bonding in Palladium

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Hydrogen incorporation in palladium is directly probed using in situ ambient‐pressure hard X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy under realistic, application‐relevant conditions. Correlated structural, spectroscopic, and theoretical analysis reveals how hydrogen loading modifies structure, electronic structure, and metal‐hydrogen bonding, resolving long ...

Status and analysis of multi-factor intelligent perception of hidden disaster in mines based on DOFS

open access: yesMeitan kexue jishu
Coal is the “ballast stone” for China’s energy security, but hidden disaster-causing factors and the “three highs and one low” problems in deep underground environments pose threats to the safe, efficient and green mining of coal mines.

An optical coherence microscope for 3-dimensional imaging in developmental biology [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
An optical coherence microscope (OCM) has been designed and constructed to acquire 3-dimensional images of highly scattering biological tissue. Volume-rendering software is used to enhance 3-D visualization of the data sets. Lateral resolution of the OCM

Simplex coded polarization optical time domain reflectometry system

open access: yesOptics Express, 2017
In polarization optical time domain reflectometry (POTDR) system, the performance of polarimetric measurement is constrained by the low signal to noise ratio (SNR) due to the weak Rayleigh backscattering and the degradation of the degree of polarization (DOP) of signal light. Therefore, it is indispensable to improve the SNR without sacrificing the DOP

Magnetron Sputtering Synthesis of La‐Doped BiFeO3 Thin Films and Enhanced Exchange Bias in CoFeB/Bi1‐xLaxFeO3 Heterostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, EarlyView.
This study explores the epitaxial growth of high‐quality La‐doped BiFeO3 (BLFO) thin films at 550 °C using magnetron sputtering. The films exhibit good ferroelectric properties and low leakage current. A BLFO/CoFeB heterostructure is constructed, achieving an exchange bias field exceeding the coercive field at room temperature.

Strain Development During Cure of Partially Pre‐Cured Thermosetting Composites Measured With Distributed Fiber Optic Sensors

open access: yesPolymer Composites, EarlyView.
Schematic representation of the beneficial effect of ply pre‐curing on temperature overshoot, internal strain and warpage during cure of thin and thick thermosetting composites. ABSTRACT Detection of manufacturing‐induced defects in thermosetting composites is crucial to guarantee part quality, safety, and improve manufacturing efficiency.

Superconducting nanowire photon number resolving detector at telecom wavelength

open access: yes, 2007
The optical-to-electrical conversion, which is the basis of optical detectors, can be linear or nonlinear. When high sensitivities are needed single-photon detectors (SPDs) are used, which operate in a strongly nonlinear mode, their response being ...
