Bandwidth Optimization by Dielectric Loading

IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 1978
The known theory of dielectrically loaded rectangular waveguides is combined with appropriate optimization procedures to yield optimal bandwidth design. The minimal acceptable power handling capacity and/or the maximal allowed losses are used as contraints.

Bandwidths Optimization on Sparse Matrices Using Brain Storm Optimization

2017 19th International Symposium on Symbolic and Numeric Algorithms for Scientific Computing (SYNASC), 2017
Brain storm optimization (BSO) algorithm is a swarm intelligence algorithm, which simulates the human brainstorming process. This paper proposes two hybrid methods based on BSO, aiming the reduction of the bandwidth and the average bandwidth of sparse matrices.

Bandwidth-rate-distortion optimized motion estimation

2009 IEEE International Conference on Multimedia and Expo, 2009
Motion estimation process is the most computational and memory intensive component in video encoders. However, traditional motion estimation algorithms focus on rate and distortion performance and do not take memory bandwidth into consideration. As a result, its performance will be degraded under bandwidth constraint environment.

Enterprise solution of bandwidth optimization for multimedia transmission

2012 Fourth International Conference on Ubiquitous and Future Networks (ICUFN), 2012
To support multimedia transmission over an enterprise wireless network, in this paper we propose a B2BSIP(Back-to-Back Session Initiation Protocol) enterprise solution which provides multimedia QoS adaptation at the application layer as well as dynamic rate control at the link layer. A B2BUA (Back-to-Back User Agent) does not have any improvisation for

Bandwidth extension in CMOS with optimized on-chip inductors

IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits, 2000
We present a technique for enhancing the bandwidth of gigahertz broad-band circuitry by using optimized on-chip spiral inductors as shunt-peaking elements. The series resistance of the on-chip inductor is incorporated as part of the load resistance to permit a large inductance to be realized with minimum area and capacitance.

Matching estimators and optimal bandwidth choice

Statistics and Computing, 2005
Optimal bandwidth choice for matching estimators and their finite sample properties are examined. An approximation to their MSE is derived, as a basis for a plug-in bandwidth selector. In small samples, this approximation is not very accurate, though.

Hierarchical video patching with optimal server bandwidth

ACM Transactions on Multimedia Computing, Communications, and Applications, 2008
Video patching is a way for transporting true video-on-demand, that is, instantaneous without any delay, from a video server to several clients. Instead of sending a unique stream to each newly arriving client, clients share as many multicast transmissions as possible, and are serviced only those parts of the video that they have missed.

Bandwidth Optimization in Broadband Networks

2002
In this chapter, firstly, the QoS in the entire network is analytically determined; and secondly, a heuristics based bandwidth optimization procedure is outlined. Given a set of SD (Source-Destination) pairs, and a list of routes for each of the SD pairs, the procedure develops a channel allocation plan that optimizes QoS and revenue.

Bandwidth Usage Optimization for NNTP Protocol

2012
Streaming extensions of the NNTP protocol provide methods of pipelining article transfers to maximize connection throughput. If redundant server links are used for service reliability improvement, this causes substantial bandwidth loss, as the same articles may be transferred in parallel on different links. An extension of the existing NNTP protocol is
