Cell‐free DNA aneuploidy score as a dynamic early response marker in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
mFast‐SeqS‐based genome‐wide aneuploidy scores are concordant with aneuploidy scores obtained by whole genome sequencing from tumor tissue and can predict response to ARSI treatment at baseline and, at an early time point, to ARSI and taxanes. This assay can be easily performed at low cost and requires little input of cfDNA. Cell‐free circulating tumor

Optimal Modal Control

open access: yesMeasurement + Control, 1973
In this paper, optimal and modal control theories are combined to form a new theory of optimal modal control. This theory provides a rational basis for the selection of a modal state weighting matrix which ensures that the plant matrix of the resulting ...

Comparing self‐reported race and genetic ancestry for identifying potential differentially methylated sites in endometrial cancer: insights from African ancestry proportions using machine learning models

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Integrating ancestry, differential methylation analysis, and machine learning, we identified robust epigenetic signature genes (ESGs) and Core‐ESGs in Black and White women with endometrial cancer. Core‐ESGs (namely APOBEC1 and PLEKHG5) methylation levels were significantly associated with survival, with tumors from high African ancestry (THA) showing ...

Value function for regional control problems via dynamic programming and Pontryagin maximum principle [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
In this paper we focus on regional deterministic optimal control problems, i.e., problems where the dynamics and the cost functional may be different in several regions of the state space and present discontinuities at their interface.

A large‐scale retrospective study in metastatic breast cancer patients using circulating tumour DNA and machine learning to predict treatment outcome and progression‐free survival

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
There is an unmet need in metastatic breast cancer patients to monitor therapy response in real time. In this study, we show how a noninvasive and affordable strategy based on sequencing of plasma samples with longitudinal tracking of tumour fraction paired with a statistical model provides valuable information on treatment response in advance of the ...

Optimal Multidimensional Droop Control for Wind Resources in DC Microgrids

open access: yesEnergies, 2018
The inclusion of electricity generation from wind in microgrids presents an important opportunity in modern electric power systems. Various control strategies can be pursued for wind resources connected in microgrids, and droop control is a promising ...

Escape from TGF‐β‐induced senescence promotes aggressive hallmarks in epithelial hepatocellular carcinoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Chronic TGF‐β exposure drives epithelial HCC cells from a senescent state to a TGF‐β resistant mesenchymal phenotype. This transition is characterized by the loss of Smad3‐mediated signaling, escape from senescence, enhanced invasiveness and metastatic potential, and upregulation of key resistance modulators such as MARK1 and GRM8, ultimately promoting

Optimal control for rough differential equations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
In this note, we consider an optimal control problem associated to a differential equation driven by a H\"{o}lder continuous function g of index greater than 1/2. We split our study in two cases. If the coefficient of dg\_t does not depend on the control

ShcD adaptor protein drives invasion of triple negative breast cancer cells by aberrant activation of EGFR signaling

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identified adaptor protein ShcD as upregulated in triple‐negative breast cancer and found its expression to be correlated with reduced patient survival and increased invasion in cell models. Using a proteomic screen, we identified novel ShcD binding partners involved in EGFR signaling pathways.
