Are «Optimal» modes of laser lithotripsy optimal?

Urologiia
to evaluate the effectiveness of the recommended modes of laser lithotripsy in clinical practice by analyzing the necessity of changing laser radiation parameters during percutaneous nephrolithotripsy (PCNL), ureterolithotripsy (URS) and retrograde intrarenal surgery (RIRS).a prospective non-randomized clinical study was conducted from October 2023 to ...

Optimal transmission modes by simulated annealing

Proceedings of the 6th ACM workshop on Performance monitoring and measurement of heterogeneous wireless and wired networks, 2011
We address the problem of finding efficient combinations of transmitting links between nodes distributed as a spatial Poisson process in an infinite plane using a stochastic optimization method called simulated annealing. A simple Boolean interference model with the interference radius equaling the transmission radius is used to verify the operation of

Projection-based optimal mode scheduling

52nd IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 2013
This paper develops an iterative optimization technique that can be applied to mode scheduling. The algorithm provides both a mode schedule and timing of that mode schedule with convergence guarantees. Moreover, the algorithm takes advantage of a line search, and the number of iterations in the line search is bounded.

Optimal mode of transesophageal atrial pacing

The American Journal of Cardiology, 1986
The optimal mode of transesophageal atrial pacing was determined by clinical electrophysiologic studies in 15 healthy adult volunteers. The point at which the unipolar atrial electrogram was biphasic and largest in amplitude (35.4 +/- 1.6 cm from the incisors) was considered the best stimulation site for atrial pacing.

Unification of algorithms for minimum mode optimization

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 2014
Minimum mode following algorithms are widely used for saddle point searching in chemical and material systems. Common to these algorithms is a component to find the minimum curvature mode of the second derivative, or Hessian matrix. Several methods, including Lanczos, dimer, Rayleigh-Ritz minimization, shifted power iteration, and locally optimal block

Optimization of depletion-mode MOSFET's

1981 International Electron Devices Meeting, 1981
Depletion-mode MOSFET's used as load devices in NMOS logic circuits are characterized and optimized. The dependence of V T , transconductance, load efficiency and short-channel effects on the device geometries, channel profiles, and mode of operation are discussed.

Multi-mode antenna optimization

IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium 1992 Digest, 1992
It is pointed out that one can anticipate that successful advanced antenna concepts will comprise a blend of new BFN and antenna technologies and improved antenna synthesis approaches. The multibeam reflector antenna design and synthesis software aspect is addressed. It is noted that the requirements of simple feed networks and high antenna performance

On the Optimality of the Hybrid Tenure Mode

Journal of Housing Economics, 1998
Abstract In contrast to most studies in the tenure choice literature, our model confronts the agent with a continuum of tenure modes combining homeownership and tenancy. In principle, the hybrid tenure mode contract, while appearing in different forms, may be detected in various real estate markets around the world.
