Optimal Reactive Power Allocation

IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, 1987
A systematic procedure is developed to locate reactive power devices in a power system based on a set of indices, that are based on overall system conditions. After identifying the desired locations, the cost of installation and number of reactive power devices, subject to any required practical and real economic constraints, are minimized.

On Optimal Power Allocation for a Class of Interference Networks

2010 IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference GLOBECOM 2010, 2010
Binary power control has been shown to be optimal in a variety of network conditions. In the context of sumrate maximisation in interference networks, our main result states that the optimal power policy for a link is binary if it only interferes with one other link in the network.

Optimal power allocation for active and passive localization

2012 IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM), 2012
Power resource allocation is crucial for localization since it affects not only the conventionally recognized lifetime, throughput, and covertness, but also localization efficiency of the network. In this paper, we present an optimization framework for range-based localization to improve the power efficiency and localization accuracy.

On optimal routing and power allocation for D2D communications

2015 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP), 2015
In this paper, we propose algorithms for finding the optimum multi-hop routes and corresponding transmit powers that maximize the throughput between a pair of device-to-device (D2D) nodes, under a constraint on the maximum interference caused to the cellular network. Our solution involves two steps.

On the optimal power allocation of a cognitive radio network

2009 IEEE 20th International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications, 2009
It is well known that a cognitive radio network (CRN) may further enhance the sum spectral efficiency using temporarily idle spectrum. However, we usually ignore the spatial domain behaviors to fully utilize the radio resource to approach available system capacity.

Sub-optimal Power Allocation for MIMO Channels

2006 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory, 2006
We consider t-input r-output Rayleigh fading channels with transmit-sided correlation, where the receiver knows the channel realizations, and the transmitter only knows the channel statistics. Using Lagrange duality, we develop an easily computable, tight upper bound on the loss in information rate due to the use of any given input covariance for this ...

Optimized Power Allocation for Interference Channel With SWIPT

IEEE Wireless Communications Letters, 2016
This letter studies a $K$ -link interference channel (IFC) with simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT). Our objective is to maximize the minimum signal to interference plus noise ratio (SINR) of the $K$ links by jointly designing the power allocations at all transmitters and the power splitting (PS) ratios at their ...

An Optimal Power Allocation Algorithm in Distributed Sensing

2010 IEEE International Conference on Communications, 2010
We propose a optimal power allocation algorithm for Distributed Sensing networks under the assumption of a group of sensors observe the same quantity in independent additive observation noises with possibly different variances. Each node computes a local statistic and communicates it to the fusion center over rayleigh fading wireless channels.

Optimal Pilot Symbol Power Allocation in LTE

2011 IEEE Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC Fall), 2011
The UMTS Long Term Evolution (LTE) allows the pilot symbol power to be adjusted with respect to that of the data symbols. Such power increase at the pilot symbols results in a more accurate channel estimate, but in turn reduces the amount of power available for the data transmission.

Transmitter channel tracking for optimal power allocation

2001 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing. Proceedings (Cat. No.01CH37221), 2002
The design of accurate equalization schemes, optimizing the transmission strategy, can be achieved if channel status information is available not only at the receiver but also at the transmitter side. Accordingly, we propose a feasible scheme to track the channel response by the transmitter based on channel prediction, becoming a suitable solution in ...
