Optimization of the regional allocation of wind power capacity

2019 International Conference on Power Generation Systems and Renewable Energy Technologies (PGSRET), 2019
With the growing impact of global warming and depletion of fossil fuels, the necessity of renewable energy resources is becoming more and more obvious. However, investing in intermittent renewable resources, such as wind power, by only considering the regional power potentials jeopardizes system reliability and increases the necessity of spinning ...

Optimal Power Allocation for Cooperative Spectrum Sensing

2019 IEEE International Symposium on Dynamic Spectrum Access Networks (DySPAN), 2019
In this paper, we propose to optimize the power of Primary User (PU) and secondary relays R k to maximize the Detection Probability (DP). We suggest to maximize the detection probability of cooperative spectrum sensing with relay selection. One relay is chosen to amplify the PU signal to the fusion center D where spectrum sensing using the Energy ...

Optimization of Power Allocation for Interference Cancellation With Particle Swarm Optimization

IEEE Transactions on Evolutionary Computation, 2009
In code division multiple access (CDMA) systems a significant degradation in detection performance due to multiuser interference can be avoided by the utilization of interference cancellation methods. Further enhancement can be obtained by optimizing the power allocation of the users.

Joint Optimization for Optimal Power Allocation in OFDMA Femtocell Networks

IEEE Communications Letters, 2016
This letter is concerned with the optimal power allocation in femtocell networks using a new technique based on multiobjective optimization. In this letter, we consider a cochannel framework for the coexistence of orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA)-based macrocell and femtocell networks.

Optimal Power and Bit Allocation for Graph Signal Interpolation

2018 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP), 2018
We study centralized interpolation of bandlimited graph signals at a fusion center (FC), when sampled data are transmitted over rate-constrained links. In such a scenario, the performance of the reconstruction task is inevitably affected by several sources of errors such as observation noise and quantization due to source encoding.

Optimal Power Allocation in a Relay-aided Cognitive Network

Proceedings of the 12th EAI International Conference on Performance Evaluation Methodologies and Tools, 2019
In this paper, we address a power allocation problem in a relay-aided cognitive network. The network is composed by a primary and secondary user/destination pair and a relay, which helps the communication between the secondary user and its destination.

Asymptotically optimal power allocation with MMSE receivers

International Symposium onInformation Theory, 2004. ISIT 2004. Proceedings., 2004
The optimal power allocation scheme is investigated with random spreading sequences and linear MMSE receivers in the regime of large system. The main result is the identification of a power allocation and admission control scheme that maximizes the sum ...

Optimal capacitor allocation in power systems

Computers & Electrical Engineering, 1983
Abstract Static capacitors are installed at specific locations in large power systems for minimising power losses and to ensure quality of the supply system. It has been found that the number of units in each capacitor bank can be considerably reduced by suitable choice of transformer tap settings and generator voltage magnitudes, thereby reducing ...

On optimal power allocation for turbo codes

Proceedings of IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory, 2002
A scheme for optimum power allocation for the different bits of a turbo code is introduced. It is shown that by employing this scheme performance improvements in the range of 0.5-0.7 dB can be achieved without introducing any complexity or delay at the decoder.
