Power-Optimal Register Allocation and Binding

1999
In the context of low power behavioral synthesis, automatic techniques must be developed that minimize the switching activity on globally shared busses and register files, that select low power modules while satisfying the timing constraints, and that schedule operations to minimize the switching activity from one cycle step to next.

Capacity Optimizing Power Allocation in Interference Channels

AEU - International Journal of Electronics and Communications, 2009
Abstract The interference channel is an essential model in both wireline and wireless communication systems. This article addresses transmit power allocation in interference channels with total transmit power constraint. The optimum power allocation maximizing the sum rate in two user interference channels can be derived analytically.

On optimal power allocation for turbo codes

Proceedings of IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory, 2002
A scheme for optimum power allocation for the different bits of a turbo code is introduced. It is shown that by employing this scheme performance improvements in the range of 0.5-0.7 dB can be achieved without introducing any complexity or delay at the decoder.

Optimal power flow incorporating wind power and optimally allocated energy storage

Wind Engineering, 2019
The rapid growth of wind power poses new challenges for power system operators and electricity marketers. The benefits of using wind power are emission reduction and decrease in consumption of conventional resources. But the inherent nature of wind energy poses challenges in the power system operation and planning.

Optimizing MBMS Power Allocation through HSDPA Transmissions

2009 Fifth Advanced International Conference on Telecommunications, 2009
Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service (MBMS) epitomizes the increasing popularity of enhanced end-user experience in Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS), since it allows the economical delivery of multimedia services to a large number of users. MBMS multicast supports both Point-to-Point (PTP) and Point-to-Multipoint (PTM) modes in order

Optimal Pilot Symbol Power Allocation in LTE

2011 IEEE Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC Fall), 2011
The UMTS Long Term Evolution (LTE) allows the pilot symbol power to be adjusted with respect to that of the data symbols. Such power increase at the pilot symbols results in a more accurate channel estimate, but in turn reduces the amount of power available for the data transmission.

Optimal power allocation for cognitive relay networks

2009 International Conference on Wireless Communications & Signal Processing, 2009
In this paper, we study the power allocation of suggested cognitive relay network model to minimize the system outage probability subject to total and individual power constraints for cognitive relays and subject to interference constraints for primary user nodes.

Transmitter channel tracking for optimal power allocation

2001 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing. Proceedings (Cat. No.01CH37221), 2002
The design of accurate equalization schemes, optimizing the transmission strategy, can be achieved if channel status information is available not only at the receiver but also at the transmitter side. Accordingly, we propose a feasible scheme to track the channel response by the transmitter based on channel prediction, becoming a suitable solution in ...

Optimal Power Allocation Under Communication Network Externalities

IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid, 2012
Efficient resource allocation is an important problem that aims for a “greener” and more environmentally friendly electric power grid. The smart behavior of the newly emerged grid, combined with two-way communication between users and the operator allows for actions like measurement, monitoring, prediction, and control signaling so as to maximize ...

Optimal Power Allocation for Cooperative Spectrum Sensing

2019 IEEE International Symposium on Dynamic Spectrum Access Networks (DySPAN), 2019
In this paper, we propose to optimize the power of Primary User (PU) and secondary relays R k to maximize the Detection Probability (DP). We suggest to maximize the detection probability of cooperative spectrum sensing with relay selection. One relay is chosen to amplify the PU signal to the fusion center D where spectrum sensing using the Energy ...
