Crucial parameters for precise copy number variation detection in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded solid cancer samples

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that copy number variations (CNVs) can be reliably detected in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded (FFPE) solid cancer samples using ultra‐low‐pass whole‐genome sequencing, provided that key (pre)‐analytical parameters are optimized.

Comparative Study of Profiled School Scheduling Programs in Lithuania

open access: yesInformatics in Education, 2005
Solution of the problem of optimal school scheduling is very important to make the work of comprehensive schools more effective. Here the sequence of teaching subjects, regarded as tools, can be changed. One needs to reduce the sum of gaps (“empty” hours)

Combining antibody conjugates with cytotoxic and immune‐stimulating payloads maximizes anti‐cancer activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Methods to improve antibody–drug conjugate (ADC) treatment durability in cancer therapy are needed. We utilized ADCs and immune‐stimulating antibody conjugates (ISACs), which are made from two non‐competitive antibodies, to enhance the entry of toxic payloads into cancer cells and deliver immunostimulatory agents into immune cells.

Risk-Averse Optimal Scheduling of Regional Electricity-Heating Integrated Energy System Considering Interface with Microgrids

open access: yesCSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems
A regional electricity-heating integrated energy system (REH-IES) can make extensive use of renewable energy sources, realize complementary and coordinated operation of multiple energy sources, reduce carbon emissions and promote the development of zero ...

Targeting p38α in cancer: challenges, opportunities, and emerging strategies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
p38α normally regulates cellular stress responses and homeostasis and suppresses malignant transformation. In cancer, however, p38α is co‐opted to drive context‐dependent proliferation and dissemination. p38α also supports key functions in cells of the tumor microenvironment, including fibroblasts, myeloid cells, and T lymphocytes.

Adaptive genetic algorithm for computer course scheduling system under the background of educational informatization

open access: yesSystems and Soft Computing
Currently, traditional scheduling methods are difficult to cope with the increasing demand and complexity of education, especially when dealing with large-scale data, diverse course schedules, and personalized teaching needs.

Scheduling with Fuzzy Methods

open access: yes, 2004
Nowadays, manufacturing industries -- driven by fierce competition and rising customer requirements -- are forced to produce a broader range of individual products of rising quality at the same (or preferably lower) cost. Meeting these demands implies an

Basroparib inhibits YAP‐driven cancers by stabilizing angiomotin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Basroparib, a selective tankyrase inhibitor, suppresses Wnt signaling and attenuates YAP‐driven oncogenic programs by stabilizing angiomotin. It promotes AMOT–YAP complex formation, enforces cytoplasmic YAP sequestration, inhibits YAP/TEAD transcription, and sensitizes YAP‐active cancers, including KRAS‐mutant colorectal cancer, to MEK inhibition.
