ErB4 and NdB4 nanostructured powders are produced by mechanochemical synthesis. 5 h mechanical alloying and 4 M HCl acid leaching are used in the production. ErB4 and NdB4 powders exhibit maximum magnetization of 0.4726 emu g−1 accompanied with an antiferromagnetic‐to‐paramagnetic phase transition at about TN = 18 K and 0.132 emu g−1 with a maximum at ...

Optimal stopping time guidance: deterministic and stochastic targets
This paper describes a missile guidance problem in which the objective is to guide an interceptor missile towards both deterministic and stochastic targets.

Faced with the access of a large number of devices, and for mobile vehicles with high speeds, some situations may be far from the communication range of the current edge node, resulting in a significant increase in communication latency and energy ...

Optimal Stopping with Interdependent Values
We study online selection problems in both the prophet and secretary settings, when arriving agents have interdependent values. In the interdependent values model, introduced in the seminal work of Milgrom and Weber [1982], each agent has a private signal and the value of an agent is a function of the signals held by all agents.

Near‐Field Electrospinning Micro‐Printhead Achieves Precise Control of Nanofiber Deposition
A micro‐printhead for near‐field electrospinning enables reproducible deposition of polymer nanofibers with diameters below 50 nm. Systematic parameter studies uncover the mechanisms linking operating conditions to fiber morphology, paving the way for precise and low‐cost nanoscale 3D manufacturing. As a high‐resolution, cost‐effective, and rapid ...

Performance Analysis of Abradable Coating Systems for Aircraft Gas Turbines
Three CoNiCrAlY/YSZ/MgAl2O4 abradable liner configurations on a nickel‐superalloy are evaluated by thermal‐gradient cycling and incursion tests. Laser ablation of the bondcoat and/or Y2O3‐stabilized ZrO2 (YSZ) intermediate layer increases mechanical interlocking and bonding for thick topcoats.

Optimal stopping in Levy models, for non-monotone discontinuous payoffs
We give short proofs of general theorems about optimal entry and exit problems in Levy models, when payoff streams may have discontinuities and be non-monotone.

Three-Dimensional Brownian Motion and the Golden Ratio Rule [PDF]
Let X =(Xt)t=0 be a transient diffusion processin (0,8) with the diffusion coeffcient s> 0 and the scale function L such that Xt ?8 as t ?8 ,let It denote its running minimum for t = 0, and let ? denote the time of its ultimate minimum I8 .Setting c(i,x)=

Mg–Zn composites with a thickness of 0.21 mm were fabricated using roll bonding of a kirigami‐patterned Mg alloy inlay within a Zn matrix. Thermal activation following this process led to the formation of tailored intermetallic structures, which provided the composite with enhanced flexural strength.
