Optimal learning under robustness and time-consistency [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
We model learning in a continuous-time Brownian setting where there is prior ambiguity. The associated model of preference values robustness and is time-consistent. It is applied to study optimal learning when the choice between actions can be postponed,

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

Max-Plus decomposition of supermartingales and convex order. Application to American options and portfolio insurance

open access: yes, 2008
We are concerned with a new type of supermartingale decomposition in the Max-Plus algebra, which essentially consists in expressing any supermartingale of class $(\mathcal{D})$ as a conditional expectation of some running supremum process.

YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.

Evaluating the Use of Cluster Analysis to Detect and Correct Selection Bias in Single-Center Observational Research on Voluntary Terminations of Pregnancy

open access: yesEpidemiology, Biostatistics and Public Health
Introduction Voluntary termination of pregnancy (VTP) has always been debated within the general population. The circumstances leading women to choose VTP are multifaceted, and it remains challenging to identify patterns leading women to opt for this

Number of paths versus number of basis functions in American option pricing

open access: yes, 2003
An American option grants the holder the right to select the time at which to exercise the option, so pricing an American option entails solving an optimal stopping problem.

Identifying transcription factors controlling the basal expression of human MRP4 highlights a substantial role for Sp1

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The MRP4 transporter exports several drugs and signaling molecules. Here, we identified key promoter elements regulating basal MRP4 expression. Using reporter assays, we defined a conserved region with essential Sp1 and contributory Ets sites, which controlled basal MRP4 expression.

On approximative solutions of multistopping problems

open access: yes, 2011
In this paper, we consider multistopping problems for finite discrete time sequences $X_1,...,X_n$. $m$-stops are allowed and the aim is to maximize the expected value of the best of these $m$ stops.

Molecular dynamics simulations of positively selected codons in FcγRI reveal novel biochemical binding properties

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...

Cognitive Status in People With Epilepsy in the Republic of Guinea: A Prospective, Case–Control Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective People with epilepsy (PWE) may experience cognitive deficits but fail to undergo formal evaluation. This study compares cognitive status between PWE and healthy controls in the West African Republic of Guinea. Methods A cross‐sectional, case–control study was conducted in sequential recruitment phases (July 2024–July 2025) at Ignace ...
