Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

No-arbitrage condition and existence of equilibrium with dividends [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper we first give an elementary proof of existence of equilibrium with dividends in an economy with possibly satiated consumers. We then introduce a no-arbitrage condition and show that it is equivalent to the existence of equilibrium with ...

Coordination in Optimality Theory

open access: yes, 2005
This dissertation provides an analysis of coordination within a restricted version of Optimality Theory (OT), operating exclusively with alignment and faithfulness constraints.

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Generalized Derivatives and Optimality Conditions in Nonconvex Optimization

open access: yesBulletin of the Malaysian Mathematical Sciences Society
AbstractIn this paper, we study the radial epiderivative notion for nonconvex functions, which extends the (classical) directional derivative concept. The paper presents new definition and new properties for this notion and establishes relationships between the radial epiderivative, the Clarke’s directional derivative, the Rockafellar’s subderivative ...

Pareto Optimality in the Extraction of Fossil Fuels and the Greenhouse Effect: A Note [PDF]

open access: yes
This note generalizes the Solow-Stiglitz efficiency condition for natural resources to the problem of fossil fuel extraction with a greenhouse effect. The generalized optimality condition suggests that the greenhouse effect implies overextraction in the ...

-Optimal Solutions in Nonconvex Semi-Infinite Programs with Support Functions

open access: yesFixed Point Theory and Applications, 2011
Approximate optimality conditions for a class of nonconvex semi-infinite programs involving support functions are given. The objective function and the constraint functions are locally Lipschitz functions on .

Differential expression of cancer‐related genes supports prediction of poor response to first‐line treatments in T‐ALL pediatric patients with high minimal residual disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the present work, we have identified a transcriptional signature based on the differential expression of six genes (BCL2&MAST4, HSH2D&LAT2, METRN&PITPNM2) that would facilitate the early detection of T‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T‐ALL) patients prone to a poor treatment response and could be implemented at diagnosis, along with other risk ...

Object Agreement in Palauan: Specificity, Humanness, Economy, and Optimality

open access: yes, 1995
Complex conditions on object agreement and preposition insertion in Palauan, conditioned by aspect, specificity, number, and humanness, are shown to follow from a modified version of Diesing's Mapping Hypothesis interacting with (ranked with respect to ...
