Zebra Optimization Algorithm: A New Bio-Inspired Optimization Algorithm for Solving Optimization Algorithm

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
In this paper, a new bio-inspired metaheuristic algorithm called Zebra Optimization Algorithm (ZOA) is developed; its fundamental inspiration is the behavior of zebras in nature. ZOA simulates the foraging behavior of zebras and their defense strategy against predators’ attacks. The ZOA steps are described and then mathematically modeled.

Constrained ear decompositions in graphs and digraphs [PDF]

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics & Theoretical Computer Science, 2019
Ear decompositions of graphs are a standard concept related to several major problems in graph theory like the Traveling Salesman Problem. For example, the Hamiltonian Cycle Problem, which is notoriously N P-complete, is equivalent to deciding whether a ...

An overview of gradient descent optimization algorithms [PDF]

open access: yesVestnik komp iuternykh i informatsionnykh tekhnologii, 2016
The statistical testing technique is considered to compare the metrics values of machine learning models on a test set. Since the values of metrics depend not only on the models, but also on the data, it may turn out that different models are the best on

Review of Metaheuristic Optimization Algorithms for Power Systems Problems

open access: yesSustainability, 2023
Metaheuristic optimization algorithms are tools based on mathematical concepts that are used to solve complicated optimization issues. These algorithms are intended to locate or develop a sufficiently good solution to an optimization issue, particularly ...

On interval number in cycle convexity [PDF]

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics & Theoretical Computer Science, 2018
Recently, Araujo et al. [Manuscript in preparation, 2017] introduced the notion of Cycle Convexity of graphs. In their seminal work, they studied the graph convexity parameter called hull number for this new graph convexity they proposed, and they ...

Combinatorial optimization in networks with Shared Risk Link Groups [PDF]

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics & Theoretical Computer Science, 2016
The notion of Shared Risk Link Groups (SRLG) captures survivability issues when a set of links of a network may fail simultaneously. The theory of survivable network design relies on basic combinatorial objects that are rather easy to compute in the ...

Survey of Optimization Algorithms in Modern Neural Networks

open access: yesMathematics, 2023
The main goal of machine learning is the creation of self-learning algorithms in many areas of human activity. It allows a replacement of a person with artificial intelligence in seeking to expand production.

Instance-Optimal Geometric Algorithms [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the ACM, 2009
We prove the existence of an algorithm A for computing 2D or 3D convex hulls that is optimal for every point set in the following sense: for every sequence σ of n points and for every algorithm A ′ in a certain class A ...
