Optimized link state routing protocol for ad hoc networks [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings. IEEE International Multi Topic Conference, 2001. IEEE INMIC 2001. Technology for the 21st Century., 2002
In this paper we propose and discuss an optimized link state routing protocol, named OLSR, for mobile wireless networks. The protocol is based on the link state algorithm and it is proactive (or table-driven) in nature. It employs periodic exchange of messages to maintain topology information of the network at each node.

Implementation of modified OLSR protocol in AANETs for UDP and TCP environment

open access: yesJournal of King Saud University: Computer and Information Sciences, 2022
Airborne Ad-hoc Networks (AANETs) are becoming highly popular nowadays. Due to the fast movements of aircraft, there are frequent topology updates which result into a link break between two communicating aircraft.

Evolutionary computation at work for the optimization of link state routing protocols [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the Genetic and Evolutionary Computation Conference Companion, 2017
This work explores the optimization of a real-valued parameter, assigned to each network node running the Distributed Exponentially-weighted Flow SpliTting (DEFT) routing protocol, in order to address changes on traffic conditions. This new proposal avoids the need to alter link weights and forwarding paths, by adjusting traffic splitting.
