Design methods for space-variant optical interconnections to achieve optimum power throughput
Applied Optics, 1995Optoelectronic systems based on space-variant optics give great freedom to the system designer in terms of interconnect topologies. One feature of space-variant systems is that they can achieve a high interconnect density. However, this density is achieved by having large arrays of diffractive elements with very small apertures relative to the ...

Artificial bee colony algorithm (ABC) has been efficiently used to obtain the optimum design of structures under design code limitations. There are several enhancements suggested to improve the performance of ABC even further in the literature. In this chapter, the performance of enhanced ABC variants in the optimum design of steel skeletal frames is ...

Optimum Design of Structures of Finite Number of Bars. Single Load Variant
2018The central problem of the present chapter is the minimization of the compliance of bar structures. It turns out that the optimum design of trusses of minimal compliance leads to an auxiliary problem, which naturally appears in the problem of minimization of truss volume under the condition of stresses in bars being bounded from both sides.

A new glucose 6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) variant associated with chronic nonspherocytic hemolytic anemia was discovered in Japan. The patient showed hemolytic crises after upper respiratory infections. The enzyme activity was about 3.8% of the normal.

The Characterization of Luby-Rackoff and Its Optimum Single-Key Variants
2010Luby and Rackoff provided a construction (LR) of 2n-bit (strong) pseudo-random permutation or (S)PRP from n-bit pseudorandom function (PRF), which was motivated by the structure of DES. Their construction consists of four rounds of Feistel permutations (or three rounds, for PRP), each round involves an application of an independent PRF (i.e.

Gentamicin nucleotidyltransferase, AAD 2", catalyzes the transfer of a nucleotide to many aminoglycoside antibiotics, which are the drugs of choice in the treatment of gram-negative bacterial infections. The transfer is accompanied by the production of pyrophosphate, which is coupled to three other enzymes so that an increase in absorbance at 340 nm of

Anion‐exchange chromatography of partially purified human HL‐60 topoisomerase II resolves the known α (170 kDa) and β (180 kDa) isoenzymes at 150 mM NaCl and 230 mM NaCl, respectively. An additional topoisomerase II fraction was eluted by > 300 mM NaCl.

ANALYSIS OF STANDARD TRANSFORMER OIL AND VARIANT VEGETABLE OIL FOR OPTIMUM OPERATION OF TRANSFORMER
Abstract: The requirement to create a safer, non-flammable, and ecologically friendly transformer coolant to replace the petroleum-based oil currently used as transformer oil is the aim of this study. To identify a viable and sustainable vegetable oil substitute for transformer oil, electrical and chemical experiments were conducted on samples of melon,Uzoma Osuji +3 more
