Photoacoustic tomography with a virtual point detector [PDF]
We devise and explore a ring-shaped acoustic detector associated with a virtual point detector concept for photoacoustic tomography. The center of the ring transducer scans a circle around the object to be imaged and then is treated as an omni ...

Optoacoustic Monitoring of Physiologic Variables [PDF]
Optoacoustic (photoacoustic) technique is a novel diagnostic platform that can be used for noninvasive measurements of physiologic variables, functional imaging, and hemodynamic monitoring. This technique is based on generation and time-resolved detection of optoacoustic (thermoelastic) waves generated in tissue by short optical pulses.

Optoacoustic detection of tissue glycation
Oxidative-based diseases including diabetes, chronic renal failure, cardiovascular diseases and neurological disorders are accompanied by accumulation of advanced glycation endproducts (AGE). Therefore, AGE-associated changes in tissue optical properties could yield a viable pathological indicator for disease diagnostics and monitoring. We investigated

RF diffraction effect in RF-induced thermoacoustic tomography: calibration and distortion [PDF]
Because the wavelengths of radio-frequency (RF) waves used in thermoacoustic tomography (TAT) are comparable with the size of detected objects, RF diffraction plays important roles in TAT.

Image reconstruction in optoacoustics. [PDF]
This thesis investigates reconstruction techniques for optoacoustic (oa) imaging, implemented both in pulsed and continuous wave (cw) mode. Two approaches to incorporate the transducer geometry into model-based reconstruction are implemented and its benefits showcased in simulations and experiments.

INTERMODULATED OPTOACOUSTIC SPECTROSCOPY
We discuss the application of the intermodulated optoacoustic detection to Doppler-free spectroscopy of simple molecules in the infrared region. An acoustic cell with high sensitivity at low pressure is described in detail and the pressure dependence of the intermodulated signal is reported.

Laser speckle statistics in ultrasound-modulated optical tomography [PDF]
Ultrasound-Modulated Optical Tomography is a novel biophotonic imaging technique that provides optical contrast with ultrasonic spatial resolution. High temporal coherence laser light and focused ultrasound are transmitted into tissue.

Rethinking Metabolic Imaging: From Static Snapshots to Metabolic Intelligence
Metabolic imaging is undergoing a fundamental transformation. Traditionally confined to static representations of metabolite distribution through modalities such as PET, MRS, and MSOT, imaging has offered only partial glimpses into the dynamic and ...
