Excitation‐Selective Hydrochromic Upconversion in Zero‐Dimensional Metal Halides

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Excitation wavelength dictates whether moisture speaks. In zero‐dimensional metal halides, the same humidity leaves the upconversion emission unchanged under 980 nm excitation yet triggers a distinct green‐to‐red shift under 1550 nm. This excitation‐selective hydrochromism, governed by the absorption at each wavelength, enables stimulus‐dependent ...

Beyond Radical Emitters: Hot‐Exciton Electroluminescence From Singlet Diradicaloids

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
The first hot‐exciton mechanism in a singlet diradicaloid is demonstrated in a polychlorinated Thiele hydrocarbon‐based organic light‐emitting transistor. Reverse intersystem crossing involving the T2 and bright singly excited states enables electroluminescence beyond the 25% spin‐statistical limit, leading to remarkable external quantum efficiency ...

Relative Permittivity and Optoelectronic Performances of Halide Perovskites: Study of Combined First‐Principles Simulation and Combinatorial Synthesis

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research
Owing to their excellent optoelectronic properties, halide perovskites (HPs) have garnered significant attention in the field of optoelectronics. However, conventional HPs‐based optoelectronic devices primarily are fabricated using solution‐based ...

Engineering a Correlated Narrow‐Gap Semiconductor: Effects of Ga Substitution in EuZn2P2

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The effect of Ga substitution on the electronic, magnetic, and low‐energy responses of the Zintl phase EuZn2P2${\rm EuZn}_2 {\rm P}_2$ is investigated by electrical transport, electron spin resonance (ESR), and terahertz time‐domain spectroscopy (THz‐TDS). Incorporating Ga into EuZn2P2${\rm EuZn}_2 {\rm P}_2$ (EuZn1.8Ga0.2P2${\rm EuZn}_{1.8} {\

Extending El Sayed's Rule by 1(n,π*)–3(n,π*) Rotation via Intramolecular Secondary Interaction Enables Room‐Temperature Circularly Polarized Phosphorescence in Solution

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Weak but skilled: Our results highlight the crucial role of intramolecular secondary interactions to induce an efficient ISC between formally identical 1(n,π*) and 3(n,π*) states in chiral thionated phthalimide derivatives. This unprecedented type of inter‐system crossing (ISC) extends the usual thinking of the El‐Sayed principle and enables the ...

Reservoir Computing Using an Electroabsorption Modulated Laser-Based Optoelectronic Oscillator

open access: yesPhotonics
Reservoir computing (RC) is a simple and highly efficient artificial neural network. For such a network, only the output connection weights need training, effectively reducing computational complexity. Optoelectronic time-delayed RC is typically based on

Core and π‐Bridge Engineering to Deconstruct Y6‐Series into Modular Non‐Fused Acceptors: DFT‐Guided Structure‐Property Map for Organic Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
The rigid fused backbone of Y6‐series acceptors is deconstructed into a modular, non‐fused A‐π‐A′‐π‐A architecture. Comprehensive quantum chemical simulations reveal that strategic core and π‐bridge engineering preserves strong near‐infrared light‐harvesting and enhances intramolecular charge‐transfer character.

Fluorene‐Framework Engineering Enables Narrowband Red Multi‐Resonance Emitters for High‐Efficiency With Negligible Roll‐Off Toward BT.2020

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
σ‐Decoupled C9 fluorene‐framework topology control enables narrowband red MR emitters. SF‐BNO and PF‐BNO share the same BNO core, but differ in closed/open fluorene ring closure. SF‐BNO improves steric shielding and stability, while PF‐BNO enhances PLQY, orientation, and efficiency. Ex‐PSF and TE‐OLED architectures deliver ultra‐low efficiency roll‐off
