Optoelectronic microwave oscillator
Journal of the Optical Society of America B, 1996We describe a novel oscillator that converts continuous light energy into stable and spectrally pure microwave signals. This optoelectronic microwave oscillator consists of a pump laser and a feedback circuit including an intensity modulator, an optical fiber delay line, a photodetector, an amplifier, and a filter.

W-Band Optoelectronic Oscillator
IEEE Photonics Technology Letters, 2020We demonstrate the first W-band optoelectronic oscillator (OEO), that oscillates at 94.5 GHz with a measured single side band (SSB) phase noise of −101 dBc/Hz at an offset frequency of 10 kHz from the carrier. Side mode suppression of more than 65 dB has been achieved by using injection locking.

Dual-frequency tunable optoelectronic oscillator
Asia Communications and Photonics Conference/International Conference on Information Photonics and Optical Communications 2020 (ACP/IPOC), 2020A dual-frequency tunable optoelectronic oscillator based on the nonlinear effect of an amplifier is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. In the experiment, a dual-frequency signal with tuning ranges of 6.68-10.6 GHz and 20.04-31.9 GHz is generated.

An Etalon based Optoelectronic Oscillator
Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics 2010, 2010A 10.287 GHz optoelectronic oscillator is demonstrated which uses a 1000 finesse Fabry-Perot etalon as the mode selector instead of an RF filter. The new OEO has higher RF frequency stability and lower phase noise.
