Plasmon-Assisted Optofluidics

ACS Nano, 2011
We study the ability of a plasmonic structure under illumination to release heat and induce fluid convection at the nanoscale. We first introduce the unified formalism associated with this multidisciplinary problem combining optics, thermodynamics, and hydrodynamics.

Optofluidics

1997
Abstract Optofluidics can be characterized as the combination of microfluidics and optics. It is an emerging research field of growing importance for the realization of bio/chemical lab-on-a- chip systems with integrated optical light sources, waveguiding, and detection for some of the types of electromagnetic radiation listed in Table ...

Optofluidic adaptive optics

Applied Optics, 2018
We introduce a transmissive refractive adaptive optics system featuring a deformable transparent optofluidic wavefront modulator and a sensorless wavefront error estimation algorithm. The wavefront modulator consists of a cavity filled with an optical liquid which is sealed by a deformable elastic polymer membrane.

Optofluidic variable aperture

Optics Letters, 2008
A variable aperture has been fabricated and demonstrated using polydimethylsiloxane-based optofluidic technology. The device consists of a deformable membrane, an air pressure chamber, a cavity filled with light-absorbing liquid, and a rigid transparent upper plate.
