Planar Electro-optofluidic Chip: Integration of Nanopore with Optofluidics
Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics 2010, 2010We present the integration of two ultra-sensitive technologies - ARROW waveguides and solidstate nanopore - in a planar electro-optofluidic platform. The functionality of the chip is demonstrated using concurrent electrical and optical detection of fluorescent nanospheres.

In this chapter, we discuss the contributions of femtosecond laser micromachining to the fields of lab-on-chip and optofluidics. We show how femtosecord laser irradiation can be used to fabricate directly buried optical waveguides and, if followed by chemical etching, 3D microfluidic channels.
