Fiber Reinforcement of Soft Spider Silk Hydrogels
Along the development of matrices for biomedical applications, precise tuning of the biomaterial to interact with specific cell types/tissues is essential. The fabrication of fiber mesh‐reinforced soft hydrogels made of recombinant spider silk proteins allows for the adjustment of mechanical properties and hydrogel porosity, leading to improved cell ...

We successfully developed poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) and poly(ethylene furanoate) (PEF) nanoparticles and microparticles, covalently tagged with Alexa Fluor 633 or Alexa Fluor 647, using both mechanical and solvent‐based approaches. The particles displaying hydrodynamic diameters between 200 and 700 nm, exhibited long‐term colloidal stability ...

Anisotropy Analysis of Bamboo and Tooth Using 4‐Angle Polarization Micro‐Spectroscopy
Super‐resolution via orientation: spatial distribution of specific molecular vibrations are revealed at 1/20 of the diffraction limit. ABSTRACT To investigate the anisotropic properties of biomaterials, two distinct classes are considered as follows: polymer‐based (cellulose in plants) and crystalline‐based (enamel in teeth), each demonstrating ...

Cyanoacetamidobetaine—A Zwitterionic Nitrile Derivative
The reaction of sodium dicyanamide with betainium chloride in aqueous solution affords N‐cyano‐2‐(trimethylammonio)acetaminide (cyanoacetamidobetaine). Single crystal X‐ray diffraction reveals a monoclinic structure comprising a trimethylammonium head group connected to a cyanoacetaminide unit via a methylene bridge.

Linking to images and AI‐based identification tools—The only way for Flora projects to survive
Floras are comprehensive and authoritative catalogues of plants growing in an area of interest. They help people find and name plants, which is achieved by a combination of images, drawings, and text, rarely also maps. Like other catalogues (lexica, dictionaries, telephone books), Floras will not survive unless they move online and become portable ...

The use of LLMs to annotate data in management research: Foundational guidelines and warnings
Abstract Research Summary The emergence of large language models (LLMs) offers new opportunities for AI integration in research, particularly for data annotation and text classification. However, researchers lack guidance on implementation best practices, as the benefits and risks of these tools remain poorly understood.

Substrate‐Tight Graphene Transmembrane‐nanofluidic Devices
This study demonstrates that the covalent coupling of a pyrene layer to a silicon nitride substrate using silane and peptide chemistry increases the adhesion of graphene to the substrate and prevents the delamination of graphene. 76.2% of the devices with free‐standing graphene are successful devices for ion transport measurement in 0.1 M HCl ...
