Steering the Conformation and Chiroptical Properties of Poly(dithienopyrrole)s Substituted with Chiral OPV Side Chains.

open access: yes, 2016
This manuscript discusses the conformation and chiroptical properties of poly(dithienopyrrole)s (PDTPs), substituted with oligo(phenylenevinylene) (OPV) side chains and the influence of the substitution of the OPV moiety on these features.

Main‐chain polyfullerenes: Taking fullerene to the next dimension

open access: yesPolymer International, EarlyView.
This short review appraises main‐chain polyfullerenes. Their slow development over 30 years has suddenly boomed with a rapid growth due to exciting developments in solar energy. Abstract This mini‐review gives an overview of the development, chemistry, properties and applications of main‐chain polyfullerenes.

Immunity status of adults and children against poliomyelitis virus type 1 strains CHAT and Sabin (LSc-2ab) in Germany

open access: yesBMC Infectious Diseases, 2010
Background In October 2007, the working group CEN/TC 216 of the European Committee for standardisation suggested that the Sabin oral poliovirus vaccine type 1 strain (LSc-2ab) presently used for virucidal tests should be replaced by another attenuated ...

An all‐polymer blend for photovoltaic applications: A combined photoabsorption, photoemission and ab initio multi‐configurational study

open access: yesPolymer International, EarlyView.
Near‐edge X‐ray absorption fine structure, X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy and multi‐configuration self‐consistent field results show, respectively, preferential edge‐on and face‐on orientations for the thiophene and naphthalene diimide units of the PBDB‐T‐SF:P(NDI2OD‐T2) all‐polymer blend, and surface accumulation of the acceptor.

A developing country perspective on vaccine-associated paralytic poliomyelitis

open access: yesBulletin of the World Health Organization
When the Expanded Programme on Immunization was established and oral poliovirus vaccine (OPV) was introduced for developing countries to use exclusively, national leaders of public health had no opportunity to make an informed choice between OPV and the ...

Surveillance of immunity acquired from poliovirus immunization including vaccination with the Sabin strain-derived inactivated vaccine

open access: yesHuman Vaccines & Immunotherapeutics, 2019
In Japan, routine immunization for polio using the oral polio vaccine (OPV) was suspended in September 2012; subsequently, an immunization program with inactivated polio vaccines (IPVs), the conventional IPV (cIPV) derived from virulent strains, and IPV ...

Screening for Fall Armyworm (Spodoptera frugiperda J. E. Smith) Resistance in Early‐Maturing Tropical Maize Adapted to Sub‐Saharan Africa

open access: yesPlant Breeding, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Fall armyworm (FAW) (Spodoptera frugiperda J. E. Smith) has emerged as a serious pest since 2016 in Africa, affecting the food security and livelihoods of millions of smallholder farmers, especially those growing maize. Native genetic resistance to FAW is essential for reducing yield loss.

Morphology Control of D‐A‐D and D‐A‐A Type Donor Polymers via Thiophene‐π‐Siloxane Spacer Engineering to Produce Scalable High‐Performance Organic Photovoltaics

open access: yesEcoMat, Volume 8, Issue 7, July 2026.
Morphology control of D‐A‐D and D‐A‐A type donor polymers via thiophene‐π‐siloxane spacer engineering for scalable high‐performance organic photovoltaics. We developed two new spacer‐functionalized donor polymers (SF‐DPs), namely, D‐A‐D‐thiophene‐π‐siloxane (SCl‐SiO) and D‐A‐hexyl alkyl‐A (SCl‐C6) types.
