Fullerene-Oligomers with OPV Moieties

Fullerenes Nanotubes and Carbon Nanostructures, 2010
Oligomers branches of oligo(phenylenevinylene) were attached to a fullerene C60 core. Two generations of oligomers were synthesized using Wittig and Heck reactions. The second generation oligomers showed bathocromic shift due to one more styryl group in the structure.

Stopping Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV) After Defeating Poliomyelitis in Low- and Middle-Income Countries: Harmful Unintended Consequences? Review of the Nonspecific Effects of OPV [PDF]

open access: yesOpen Forum Infectious Diseases, 2022
BACKGROUND: The live vaccines bacille Calmette-Guérin (BCG) and measles vaccine have beneficial nonspecific effects (NSEs) reducing mortality, more than can be explained by prevention of tuberculosis or measles infection.

The OE-A OPV demonstrator anno domini 2011

open access: yesEnergy & Environmental Science, 2011
Polymer solar cells were prepared in large numbers using roll-to-roll methods and were subsequently integrated into the Organic Electronics Association (OE-A) demonstrator in the year 2011 and presented as a small credit card sized lamp with a flat outline.

Inkjet Technology for Large-Area OPV Applications

open access: yesNIP & Digital Fabrication Conference, 2011
The roll-to-roll manufacturing process is believed to significantly reduce the cost-price of large area organic photovoltaic systems. Therefore, we build up knowledge base concerning the influence of process conditions on the performance of polymer solar cells. Inkjet printing has been a major research in processing photoactive materials because of its

Russian Contribution to OPV

Biologicals, 1993
Field trials and the first mass immunization campaign using Oral Poliomyelitis Vaccine (OPV) from the strains derived by Albert Sabin were carried out in the former U.S.S.R. in 1959 under the guidance of Mikhail Chumakov. The results obtained during these trials contributed greatly to the general acceptance of OPV as a safe and efficient preparation ...

Polio eradication: the OPV paradox

Reviews in Medical Virology, 2003
AbstractRoutine and mass administration of oral polio vaccine (OPV) since 1961 has prevented many millions of cases of paralytic poliomyelitis. The public health value of this inexpensive and easily administered product has been extraordinary. Progress of the Global Polio Eradication Initiative has further defined the value of OPV as well as its risk ...

A vision of a world without polio: The OPV cessation strategy

open access: yesBiologicals, 2006
Once the eradication of wild poliovirus has been confirmed, the public health benefits of routine immunization with OPV will no longer outweigh the burden of disease either due to paralysis caused by OPV (vaccine associated paralytic polio), or by ...

Inkjet Printing Technology for OPV Applications

Journal of Imaging Science and Technology, 2012
Large-scale production of organic photovoltaics (OPVs) at low cost is, still, a future concept thought to promote the market share of solar energy. Working towards the roll-to-roll production of OPVs, different compatible deposition techniques are investigated.
