Interactions of Antibody Drug Conjugate Anti‐Tubulin and Topoisomerase I Inhibitor Payloads with Radiotherapy to Potentiate Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Antibody drug conjugates deliver their cytotoxic anti‐tubulin or topoisomerase I inhibitor payloads to tumors through cancer cell receptor targeting. The released drug payloads induce cellular changes that interact with radiotherapy resulting in radiosensitization that improves cancer cell kill and stimulates anti‐tumor immune responses.

\u3ci\u3eCamellia sinensis\u3c/I\u3e constituents: A Review of Oral Cancer Prevention [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Historically, Camellia sinensis (tea) is a plant that has been known to contain antioxidants. Antioxidants such as catechins have been demonstrated to be chemopreventive agents. This review aims to summarize recent findings on the anticancer properties

Oral cavity cancer management guidelines for low‐resource regions

open access: yesHead and Neck, 2019
The diagnosis and management of oral cavity cancer has been well described in developed countries, however, in regions with fewer medical resources, alternative methods may need to be used.

Cinnamic‐Hydroxamic‐Acid Derivatives Exhibit Antibiotic, Anti‐Biofilm, and Supercoiling Relaxation Properties by Targeting Bacterial Nucleoid‐Associated Protein HU

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cinnamic‐hydroxamic‐acid derivatives (CHADs) are identified as novel inhibitors of the bacterial nucleoid‐associated protein HU, exhibiting potent antibacterial, anti‐biofilm (both inhibition and eradication), and DNA relaxation (anti‐supercoiling) activities. Moreover, CHADs demonstrate strong synergistic effects with multiple antibiotics.

Novel Antifungal Scaffold Targeting Tubulin Overcomes Sclerotinia Sclerotiorum Resistance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Addressing pesticide resistance, novel chromone‐acylhydrazone hybrids targeting fungal tubulin are synthesized. Compound G24 potently inhibited S. sclerotiorum (EC50 = 0.21µg mL−1) and demonstrated enhanced field performance via microencapsulation, offering a sustainable strategy against resistance and for global food security.

Trends in clinical features and survival of oral cavity cancer: fifty years of experience with 3,362 consecutive cases from a single institution

open access: yesCancer Management and Research, 2018
Background Global data demonstrate minimal improvement in the survival rate for oral cavity cancer (OCC) patients. We wished to know whether or not clinical features and survival rate have changed over time for OCC patients receiving initial treatment ...

Extracellular Vesicles of Streptococcus anginosus Mediate Gastritis via Epithelial Barrier Disruption and Macrophage‐driven Inflammation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Streptococcus anginosus extracellular vesicles (SA‐EVs) accumulate in gastric tissue, disrupt epithelial tight junctions, and induce gastritis characterized by neutrophil infiltration and elevated cytokines (TNF‐α, IL‐6, IL‐17A). Proteomics identifies TMPC and FBP62 as key SA‐EVs virulence factors; their genetic deletion attenuates inflammation ...

Toward complete oral cavity cancer resection using a handheld diffuse reflectance spectroscopy probe

open access: yesJournal of Biomedical Optics, 2018
. This ex-vivo study evaluates the feasibility of diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS) for discriminating tumor from healthy tissue, with the aim to develop a technology that can assess resection margins for the presence of tumor cells during oral ...

Dipiperazine‐Phenyl Derivatives Based on Convergent Molecular Platforms Can Reverse Multidrug Resistance in Gram‐Negative Bacteria by Inhibiting Efflux and Permeabilizing Cell Membranes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
By integrating a convergent molecular platform strategy, this study designed a novel dual‐target C5 to combat multidrug‐resistant Gram‐negative bacteria. C5 synergistically enhances antibiotic efficacy by inhibiting efflux pumps and increasing bacterial membrane permeability.

Differentially Expressed Genes in Oral Cavity and Thyroide Cancer: An In Silico Approach with GEO and TCGA Data

open access: yesBrazilian Archives of Biology and Technology
Head and neck cancer comprises several pathologies occurring at distinct sites above the clavicle. Due to their anatomical position, these types of cancer may cause additional physical, physiological and psychosocial impairments. Early detection is known
