Carnitine Supplementation Improves Symptoms of Anorexia Nervosa in a Patient With a Mutation in TMLHE: A Case Report

ABSTRACT Certain patients with anorexia nervosa may be more genetically susceptible to deficiency in carnitine, an essential nutrient required to metabolize long chain fatty acids. Supplementation of acetyl‐L‐carnitine may improve symptoms of anorexia, including weight restoration and consumption of dietary fats in patients with carnitine deficiency.
